Oh I took every pain killer I could get my hands on - a couple of days of a 2 hourly rotation of paracetamol, ibuprofen and the codeine i had left over from the procedure I had in February.
It probably had far more to do with not being able to eat much more than the occasional banana.

Update to my log. Still not taken a reading yet but generally maintaining the 20:4 ratio. Yesterday I had a little blip but that may have been cos I hadn't eaten as much. So had two crisp packets and 2 chocolates from the YHA reception at about 2230.

Almost a bit of a gutting experience. Maybe I'm having 'weighing scales issues'. First time back on the scales, lots of 20 hour fasts to my name but hardly restricting calories.
85kg (though projected was supposed to be down to 83kg with 300g loss per day). Slightly disheartening and I was wondering whether I'm just at an ideal weight and this weighing myself regularly is just a load of tosh.
Had a shower and weighed myself again. 81.6 (or 81.9kg). Hmmm, not sure what to believe just yet but maybe the scales are on their way out. I do try to keep everything uniform by standing at the same spot and it being a hard surface!!
Might be battery issues.

IF isn't magic, it's still quite possible to out eat it (I've been doing 18:6 for years)... but obviously less likely.
As always though, it's better to weigh yourself daily (and average out) to avoid odd water retention related spikes.

Yes, thanks Rich. I've also ordered a new set of scales. These are now about 10 years old so hopefully it'll show between the two. 18:6 sounds smart.

Got myself a Renpho bluetooth scale. Probably because I wasn't sure about my Salter or maybe because it (Salter) refuses to break. £20, seems reasonable and I returned the £80 Beurer I'd first clicked/collect.
I doubt the metrics are all too accurate but some of the more expensive ones had lesser reviews with more likelihood of being broken in the next few years.
£20, Argos. Just have to connect via the app which might be a downside I guess...

Determined to get down to sub 80kg before next week. Treating it my way of getting across the ride. Good news is that I've just hit 83.05kg today. So if I can just stay away from the food until this eve I may well have burnt that nasty 50g of fat.

I've seen these posts each and ever year and never posted on them until today.
After (early) retiring at the end of May almost giving in to buying some 36" waist trousers, and the daily use of the lunchtime butty van at work I weighed in at 13st 11.8lbs
Since then I've gave up white bread, most processed foods and changing the way I think about food, taking in more fruit than ever before and giving up brown chocolate.
I'm now confident that I've been doing it for 4 months that I have changed my mindset for good and forever.
I'm now at the stage where I'm in a rhythm with my food, my 10,000+ steps a day, my cycling and I'm also enjoying what I'm eating.
Not having many taste buds I don't really appreciate food, it's just fuel, so I'm happy to eat the same breakfasts and lunches every day going forward.
I have now dropped 1.5 stones, I'm now down to 12st 4.8lbs
Losing 10% of my body weight, now I'm fitting into 32" trousers
In other words I've lost the same weight as 1 x Molly and another lb as well

I'm feeling fitter on the bike and looking to drop down to 11stone..... something by Christmas.

John.. I've been fasting (water allowed and black teas/coffees with butter) for almost 25 days now. Today I weighed in at an all time low of 82.8kg. Anyway, back on point. Your post has really made my day (and probably many others on here). I've also almost fully given up white bread and alot of processed stuff. Don't taste the same now.

I'm not fasting, In volume I could be eating even more than before when I was working, just making sure I eat loads of salads, strawberries and blue berries, while not snacking.
I am starting to ride for a couple of hours now before breakfasts in the last week to help get towards the 11 stone something mark.
For my height to be out of the over weight bracket I need to be 11st 7lbs, but doubt I will get that low. I'll be just happy to see an 11 and not a 13 on the scales

I'm out for the rest of the year. Going to be concentrating on putting on some muscle, so not obsessing about my weight until I start creeping over 70kg again.
Pretty much hit all my targets again, though the last few weeks didn't leave me with the ideal setup for the BB300 (still survived it though, that's all that counts).

BMI 24.8 finally in the healthy and not in the over weight category
From nearly buying 36" trousers in June to fitting into 30" jeans.
I'll try stick around this weight for a while before thinking about trying to drop any more in the spring

That's absolutely fantastic and thanks so much for sharing Jon. There's a podcast with Dr Jason Fung (author of a book about fasting and also all round good guy, renal consultant by trade) that I really think you'll enjoy.
I'd agree about maintaining rather than dropping but a good lifestyle, eating at least an hour after waking up and not eating at least 3 hours before bed, should help maintenance massively. Sorry, the big sentence.
