Considering the mass of individual coins, it might be worth paying a little extra and saving a few grams.

For example, a 10p weighs 6.5g and a 20p weights a mere 5g. Therefore carrying 2x 20p coins and leaving a 10p tip represents a saving of a full 1.5g compared to the common 10p + 20p combination!!

Furthermore, a 50p coin only weighs 8g. This represents a 2g saving over 2*20p coins and a whopping 3.5g saving over the 1*10p + 1*20p combination! The 20p tip might seem a little OTT to the typically frugal bikepacker, but I'm sure I'm not alone in spending more to save less in the past..

As with all these things, there's a law of diminishing returns - a 5 pound note weighs a miniscule 0.7g, but I'd rather swim

8.75g. A decent power to weigh ratio but unfortunately, using the mighty pound to pay for others would count as gear-sharing, potentially leading to disqualification

So, this bridge (yes, recent Google activities/reviews also clarify 30p on foot or £1 in car) is suggested as being closed at 1830. Has anyone actually ever used it. If we got there at say 1840 (like some people have a habit of dragging them feet) it's closed!!

Does that mean settling down for the night or would one jump the fence/gate. Asking for a friend.

Edit: it looks like there's a walkers gate inside the main gate. So hopefully feet daggers should be fine. So would those determined to swim across.

A fun fact learned chatting to a guy met while we were riding the Yorkshire Divide Source to Sea Trail back in May was that Penmaenpool bridge is owned by a bike shop, or perhaps more accurately the owner of a bike shop.

Yeah, in the carpark for the Mawddach Trail. And there's a pub there too.
