Show him/us a pic of what you looked like during your hospital stay pls Rich. Glad you healed all OK.
Nah you're ok thanks Rich  glad all's well now. Enjoyed Leadville?

How did you know you had clots in your leg before it got to PE stage? I was assessed for what was suspected as a clot but dismissed as unlikely.

First time I had the same thing, thought I'd pulled a calf muscle. Doctor assumed clot was unlikely due to my fitness levels, but I went to the hospital anyway. Doctor at the hospital couldn't see anything on the ultrasound, but they were testing a new machine and it reckoned it found something (I forget how it works exactly, but I think it compared pressures in different parts of the leg).

Second time I was in hospital after my big crash, and I didn't know until they told me during an ultrasound pre surgery. Started to twig when they asked me if I'd had trouble breathing etc. :|

All very tedious.

Leadville was great, if expensive and slightly disappointing result wise (I'm too hard on myself).

Seems like the pulled muscle thing needs to be given more attention for this reason, perhaps.

Leadville - maybe you should have fitted some drop bars? : ) Can't imagine racing at that altitude with little time to acclimatise, must be tough.

I was slow enough on the descents already!

In reality I just needed to be more aggressive about overtaking. It's not something I'm good at / always feels risky.

Nice one for going and doing Leadvile btw Rich. Always been one of my favourites (though probably not fast enough to enter, even if I did get through the airports without too many Schedule 7 stops). There a place called Ledbury down near the Cotswolds. I just ride through there instead and imagine I'm at Leadville... lol. Much shallower hills.
