WTD 29er plus wheelset or rims

Post by riderdown »

Looking to run 29x3.0 to stop sinking in moorland bogs

Boost, 15mm 110m front, 142 rear HG or microspline

Ideally steel rear axle or convertible with a readily available spare

Or rims as I can do a shoddy build

Ideally not too expensive

Thanks

Prefer a proper boost hub rather than an adapted one and don't need the tyre

But if there isn't much about I'll probably be back

I have used proper boost and adapted ( thousands of miles on each for my winter summer wheel.set ) and you wont be able to tell which is which in use and both work fine.

Just adapted a set for a 500 mile bikepacking trip and had zero issues
Basically the kits work and all.mine are cheapo ebay kits not expensive ones

Edit : not sure if you are worried it wont work (.hence posting and trying to help )but obviously its your money and choice.

I've got a set of bontrager 29+ wheels, full boost (so that's a 148 rear not 142).XD freehub currently fitted. . Cheap as chips as I need the space!!!

Frame is 142 spacing unfortunately

I get the point re the kits working just would prefer a boost as standard as first preference

The hope kit is a bit different as it adds the extra 10mm to the non disc side with a wider end cap. You re dish the wheel away from the disc so you end up with a stronger wheel and don't have to rely on spacing the disc further outboard with longer bolts.
