*sigh* apart from the one I'm interested in.... Which is odd really as you wouldn't have thought there was that much demand for an SS-able gravel frame.

Few fairly hefty discounts on Bell helmets, haven't checked sizes or styles - just happened to find the same model+size I have at the moment, along with some replacement pads: https://bellbikehelmets.co.uk/

Those Olsen's are now £525! Including the gravel frame

He's added some flat bars as well

Typical PlanetX style price drop caught me out

Mine has arrived, looks very nice but no headtube badge nor rear through axle which I'll query.

T47x92 bb's look expensive any recommendations?

I bought some, but they're very crinkly/ unstructured material (not a surprise at that price!) so I think I'll take them back sadly.

Tried my local Lidl today for some spray lube and bike cleaner, but the gannets had already swooped through.

Difficult to get excited about an alloy frame when you could have a titanium one plus a carbon fork of your choice for the same price.

I’m beginning to come around* to the idea that aluminium is that wonder fabric that us** bikepackers are chasing. It’s strong, lightweight and very reliable fabric to use on bikes and with riders*** now opting for bigger/wider tyres, the comfort of a ride is more so coming from there than the frame material

* not quite enough to buy an aluminium frame
** sweeping statements obviously
*** another seeeping statement…

I think us oldies were put off ally frames after riding things like the old 'dale 3.0 and 2.8 series which had not one mm of flex

I'd have a stormchaser to be honest but I really need a 59, not a 57.5. Pity 'cos 700bar is a good buy.

I have a section of a Kona Big Unit which is not much better than old coke can thickness, unsurprisingly failed, Kona refused a warranty replacement

Not lost a steel frame to a non crash failure

Actually, embarrassingly, I just remembered I own a salsa Mukluk  Although that does prove my point of wider tyres bringing the comfort*

*Yeah yeah, geometry also helps :-bd

I had one of the original Il Pompinos (ss cross bike). OK, that was before gravel bikes were invented ( ) but it was one of the most fun bikes I've owned.
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Typical - I’m after some XR2s and those are the only ones not listed. That’s one way to save money  💵

I'm also able to save money, due to the fact that bonty no longer make 26 inch tyres. Thankfully, I have enough to see me through retirement (when that finally comes)
