Bivvy a Weekend. What a pro. I really need to seriously up my game.

I've harvested courgettes from the allotment, the peas are looking good, I've got raspberries and gooseberries on the way. Pass me my pipe.

Also, according to my bank statement, today I am officially a pensioner and made it before 60 (just)

Go on then, CF.

Managed to sort some bike reservations to N Wales next weekend with Mr Farriers. Bit of a palaver because annoyingly they've binned off the direct Milton Keynes - Bangor trains recently so you have to change at Crewe now and sometimes Chester as well. Seems all the Friday evening trains are full up with bikes next Friday anyway - who are they all?

In the end got bored and took the left field approach of going totally the wrong direction to London first then booking the direct train from there - which used to stop at Milton Keynes - and in fact is actually faster despite going 40 miles in the opposite direction first!

All part of the fun

Who are they both? :???:
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Almost, almost, almost - at one point today it looked like we were actually going to complete on our new bijou shoebox in Brynmawr today - so that made for a very very cheery Friday and I was so excited I had to buy a celebratory double ice cream from Llanfaes Dairy (gooseberry crumble and raspberry and elderflower sorbet), and one of those bright crimson orchid plants that I thought could adorn the new lounge windowsill for a little longer than an bunch of flowers....

It's going to be early next week now, but all the feeding of lots of numbers representing incomprehensible amounts of money into various computers has happened

Also ordered the absolute essentials: A bed, and some speakers - everything else is clearly purely optional

A bed? A bed you say?!?!!
Surely a thermarest, inflatable pillow, and quilt would suffice....

Ah, fair point, I had originally planned on going back to student years of just having a mattress on the floor, nothing wrong with that....

But yes I've gone all hoyty-toity and gone for a proper bed.... partly as the whole thing has ended up costing a bit less than I had thought, so there's a bit of spare cash floating around short term, and you know what it's like, if you don't do it now, it'll all be spent of beer and bits and pieces.... And partly as it means I can get some under bed storage thingies - for some bikepacking things :-bd

I think he mentioned that a wayward car would clear the roundabout completely, that proves it
Already been thinking of several roundabouts to bivvy on - Glenrothes has many, I could keep Barney company:-

Going out (like, social ising out) into the big town for a beer at a German bierhaus and a meal. First time out in about 9 months, and no kids bedtimes/too knackered to think of much else evening! :-bd

Been to the PYO.

These became nine jars of strawberry jam and six one pound bags of sliced-up strawberries 'n' sugar for in the freezer.

Sooo much tastier strawberries than those hydroponic ones from the supermarket. Not cheap though - £29. :o

Conflicting emotions, but on the whole, it's cheery.

Packing for the NYM300, that's definitely cheery.

In contrast with all the political upheaval (sshhh... we don't lower ourselves to talk about politics, religion or sex in This Place..... we rise above all that.... oh ok, maybe just the third one then  ), I'm gratified to see that the weather in N Wales is entirely reliable - it's going to piss with rain this weekend. Perfect for a tour of those atmospheric slate quarries  :-bd .

Very cheery! Finally, at the age of 51, my vote has finally elected someone. The placard in the garden, the delivering of leaflets and other bumpf, has finally paid off.
Also off to Sheffield tomorrow morning, to pick up a kitteh!
There are theories at the bottom of my jargon.

I had the foresight to sort a postal vote. Would preferred to have had foresight of the loose patch of gravel that caused my off. Looking at the map afterwards, there was even a label in blue text predicting it!

Well done Bob. Who was it. This was the first ever time I actively tried to encourage people to vote. Politicians, they're like lawyers ain't they... A good lawyer is a good lyar. Geddit

Anyway, before Reg has to say 'politics' again... Yes, stobbit!! Was it Green Party Bob?

Just managed to finish putting new (brass) nipples in my wheel (wish there was another name!!). New tubeless tape on and it's all inflated nicely. Best whack some sealant in and build up the rest of it. Yes, NYM300 me too. See you there Dave :-bd

Case you don't recognise me Dave. I'm the Asian looking guy, with a white beard. Probably smiling to myself for some reason or the other and maybe trying to hold me wee in

Maybe the smile will be a stress-smile. Bodies hurting already!! Not even packed yet, never mind built bike!!
