Re: The post man's been ...
It's missing you but I've been looking after it ;-)
Shall I post it so you've actually got it? We can still hook up at some point but I'm off to the Pyrenees late March so a pass beforehand, what with other commitments, is a bit tricky.
What with this mild weather you could probably be using it

Watch out world, there's a new pushy Dad in town. Wee nipper is 3 months old, probably a premature buying this.....

Re: The post man's been ...
Have you ordered set of custom bags for it from Alpkit yet?

Re: The post man's been ...
You can reduce the cost of XTR quite substantially by doing away with most of those sprocket things and the complicated pulleys and levers that move the chain back and forthflatfishy wrote:At nearly twice the price?Cheeky Monkey wrote:XT?

Re: The post man's been ...
I reckon an Alpkit Fuel pod would make an ok frame bag with stem cells for the bar & seat.....Gari wrote:Have you ordered set of custom bags for it from Alpkit yet?

Re: The post man's been ...
Arrived today some custom Alpkit stem cells.
The guys at Alpkit made them slightly larger to accommodate my MyTi mug in one of them ... also added same webbing ladder as you'll find on a possum so I can thread same strap through both stem cells to attach to stem and a strap through bottom of cells to secure them :)

Hopefully will get away from a bar roll but if I had to add one them will loop bar roll straps though stem cells to secure it all together :)

Plus a custom titanium stem cap and red bolt, to match the colour scheme

Re: The post man's been ...
After having problems with Crank Bros Candy pedals in the past I vowed never to buy any of their stuff again, however I have succumbed to a Cobalt 3 inline seatpost in a colour they describe as "iron". Suits my bike colour lovely and it was half price c/o CRC. Looks like a good piece of kit but I had to grease the head fittings and torx bolt before it would come together properly, getting the torx bolt done up tight enough twisted the end of my torx tool but I had never been that impressed with the quality or fit of the set so will have to invest in some decent ones (will see if an allen bolt fits first, no point in carrying more tools than you need). What was once a 30.5lb bike is now down to 28.4lb.
Sea to Summit mosquito net also arrived.

To begin with I was wondering how heavy your old post was, I guess this is an incremental process....Ray Young wrote:What was once a 30.5lb bike is now down to 28.4lb.
