 Well I told him he shouldn't filming. But he insisted. Will be interesting to see what he ended up deciding. Ber he managed to get enough quality footage for a half hour popcorn movie.

So so far only 13 scratches - lowest rate ever and joint second lowest number - 2016 was the lowest number but only 50 odd riders versus 63.

And the weather has been less than optimal - more scratched last year and it was wall to wall sunshine!

Hi eveyone!

I had no idea so many people were watching my progress. I'm so happy that you all found a bit of time to cheer me on - it was a lovely surprise to come home to.

7 Days, 10 hours and 47 minutes was my total time.

Again, thank you all so much!!

Rode with John for the first 80km. He told me you did this and managed to keep your feet dry!!??

The weather up on the traverse was brutal!

Temperature has dropped. Constant cold wind from the NE.

It's not very easy is it?
There have been some "testing times".

Bit of a disaster today. Stocked up at the Ullapool Tesco. Noticed my hanger was bent. Pulled in to the bike shop (they're great).
Spun the wheel. Bit of a wobble. On the truing stand. On closer inspection:

Thought it was all over, but I got a bus to Inverness and I'll be picking up a new wheel tomorrow morning :-bd
Still need to work out how to get back to Ullapool quickly (but without chartering a limousine).
Not ideal. But getting to have a shower and wash my kit is a bonus.

As I have time also uploaded some photos:

Bugger - good effort in the conditions so far. Weathers not been great for you.
Saw reports of snow on the hill tops (Cairngorms)

There must be a bus Inverness to Ullapool.
Could always try hitching if that doesn’t work out, not many people do it these days but I have in the past and will always stop for folks if I can

That looks like tough going but if you can manage to get a new wheel then you're back in the game :-bd .
