Website problems?

Post by Max Effort »

Is anyone else having problems getting to the 'News and Reviews' part of the website?
I just keep getting a message saying:

Not Found
The requested URL was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Any suggestions?

No.

Obviously an issue, I'll get someone to have a look.

Possibly someone has created a folder in the website files called "news-and-reviews"? That can break the WordPress page routing if there's a real folder and a page with the same name.

I'm told that it's looking like a hack job. I await further info.

The joke's on them then. Instead of loads of addresses and phone numbers they'll just find a big pile of smelly socks and reeking base layers.

Bad luck Stu, boring to sort out  .

Hopefully not Stu. Just sounded good and they're not connected. That guy explained what happened on there like so (in case it might have similar trends!) https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/396550/

All sorted now. It had indeed been hacked, so that's more money spent

Are you sure this wasn't just part of Shaf's gentle reminder to donate?

Seriously though Stu, do say if whatever donations are coming in don't cover the bills.

There are bot scripts that search out Wordpress sites and try and access/replace some of the core files. The server logs of the club site I run (not Wordpress based) are full of lines like:
[client 45.237.88.204:0] File does not exist: /public_html/xmlrpc.php
If the instance of Wordpress hasn't been patched/updated with the latest fixes then the bot script gets to work.

Not sure if its related but earlier in the week my messages service stopped working. Kept shutting down. (Soft) reset everything but still the problem persisted. Had to do a factory reset of the phone and now its back to generic annoying settings and another of files lost.
