I really enjoyed it thanks mate.
I rode the first 100 miles, got a pub meal at around 7pm at the Thwaite Arms, then shortcut across to Askrigg, missing Hawes and arriving at the Dent Houses shelter by nightfall.
Took a solid nights sleep after chilling in front of the fire for a while with a cider and drying my kit.
Day 2 I missed the Tan Hill loop and headed straight to Reeth, then followed the official route to Whitby for Fish and chips - another 100 miles and arriving around 7pm. Then shortcut the Scarborough section, rejoined the route on Fylingdales moor and camped high up, enjoying the sunset and gentle breeze with a JD miniature nightcap.
Day 3 I didn't get moving until around 7am, enjoying just laying in the tent for a while. Once rolling, I continued the route, quickly found a good bakery in Pickering for breakfast, followed the official 'short' route until Wakefield, then followed the Greenways and towpaths along the valley floor back to Hebden Bridge. Showered and eating pizza by 8:30pm
A good mix of hard riding, easy riding and enough variable weather to keep things interesting. I'd had enough after 3 days and nearly 350 miles though.
One thing that kept coming to mind on the harder sections, and there was plenty of them, was 'at least I'm not on a gravel bike!'
