I'm sat in the woods, with a can of walnut whip imperial stout, a good pork pie, and a well pitched tarp (even if I do say so myself).

Midgies are out, but I have Smidge, and some little bat friends swooping about.

Ticked off an item from my bucket list - completed the Great Glen canoe trail today. Corpach to Inverness on the Caledonian Canal, and some big lochs, including Loch Ness.

Excellent. Need to do another RPN tour. Managed these, some a little obscure admittedly, last time round quite a small area of Hereford/Brecon:

Cock Croft Lane
Perv(in) Wood (nearly bivvied in it!)
Mousenatch
Bush Bank
David Nob(bs's) house
Titley
Titley Mill
Titley Junction
Bullocks Mill
'Kington
Lord Hereford's Knob
Booby Dingle
Three Cocks
Boughrood Brest
Boxbush
Cockit Hill
Penisapentre
Penishawain
Fan-y-big
Pant
Fochriw
Tumble

All good clean fun.

Whoops, spelling fail! Was very cheery though, I skirted many large clouds but barely got sprinkled on. BAM May 2 in a tin shed :-bd

Blinkin' Nora, it's a rollercoaster.

Last week I bored you with my traumatic experience trying - and dismally failing - to book an Amyl and The Sniffers gig. Well a load more venues appeared this week, including Brum, Newcastle, Glasgow, and one for you Dave - Brizzle. And also Camden Roundhouse - on two days.

So a couple of days ago I go to the Roundhouse website and of course they give priority to "members" (£30/yr to you, Sir), and super-priority to "Legends" (£1500/yr to YOU, Sir!), and us plebs have to wait until today at 10am.

As recommended by our Sean, I play the part of an old duffer and sit here at 09.50 hitting "refresh" continuously. At 09.59.59 I get a "book tickets" screen. Hurrah! Big letdown - SOLD OUT. ALREADY? Both days? Depression.

I text my pal Lord Jezzer to bear the bad news. In the meantime I look at Ticketmaster and they claim to have sold out as well. However there's tickets available at Brum and Bristol (get 'em booked Dave)- bit far away. Jezzer then looks at Ticketmaster himself for the Roundhouse and by some miracle the old basket gets two tickets in his basket! Quick, hit PAY. Done!

I'm just recovering with a nice cup of tea and a sit down now. With a biscuit.

Too much excitement for a pensioner.

I'll bet Scott's already seen them live in Oz.

Oh, and also Cheery Friday because we're off to see Sham 69 in Cambridge tonight. The kids are united!

Quite ludicrous at his age, but got to admit he's quite the showman and good for a laugh: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhJzQaE6FJM

Good start to the day with a bit of brekky outside. Also got gifted a bloomin' mahoosive Brompton bag by Tomo. Definitely need to do a bit of Brompacking now.

I’ve watched the TT most years off and on for about 30 years on TV, watched tons of on board stuff online, been to short circuit racing plenty of times but holy hell, that was unbelievable!!

The speeds coming down Bray Hill

It's a cheery Sunday for me. The rail project I've been involved in opened this week with smiles all round. Total mayhem right up until the last minute but standing in Leven High st. today watching lots of smiling people gushing enthusiasm over the new rail line made it all worthwhile. (I think!) Just two bridges and 25k of cycleways to go in now....

Off tomorrow to do a long bike ride, beers this evening :-bd

About to begin to commence a fortnights holiday, first since xmas so very, very cheery. First up is a road and gravel tour down to the parents place (and back, although I may cheat on the return and get the train) Then we will see what the weather brings :-bd
