My biggest problem is eating late. So yesterdays meal at 2000 was my last, been hydrating and will have my breakfast at about 12 today. Expecting good results God Willing. Would've bought the paid version for £29 but money's a bit tight. It gives the option to photo your food and AI calculates the calories. Helping stay in a calorie deficit.
---- Past Three Weeks (7 Day Rolling Average) ----
30/03/2024: 63.5kg (-0.4kg)

13/04/2024: 62.5kg (-0.7kg)
Another tough week, weight loss definitely impacting training now. I am at the point where I think I can add in a few more calories though (I'd be happy enough with ~0.3kg a week weight loss).

1st Target - 62kg by 04/05/2024.
Had to make some modifications to get past a strange plateau, but basically back on target. Just need to make sure I don't lose focus now that I'm fairly close to being where I need to be.
Target 72 kg
20/1 - 77.8kg
28/1 - 77 kg
3/2 - 76.5kg
10/2 - 76.4kg
17/2 - 76.1kg
2/3 - 77.1kg
9/3- 76 kg.
16/3 - 76.4 kg
23/3 - 76.5kg
5/4 - 77.4kg
12/4 - 75kg
19/4 - 75.8kg...something not quite right between this week and last. I've been pretty decent this week and haven't gone up by the 0.8 kg my scales are saying I have. Suspect last week's was out. On to next week.
Thanks. It's hard going, but I think what makes the biggest difference to my consistency is having a target event.
I don't want to spend a bunch of money / time to go to an event without having got myself into the condition necessary to actually complete it. Might not seem a lot of weight, but going from even say, 69kg to 64kg takes some hills from impossible to (barely) achievable.
Hardest thing for me right now is that I've started feeling a bit discouraged by not making progress in my training. But the reality is (unless you're untrained) you're unlikely to make meaningful power increases whilst also losing weight.

2nd Target - 60kg for 10/07/2024 (Salzkammergut).
Decent week of training, and a surprisingly big drop. I'll take it. Going to try and find my maintenance level over the next few weeks and focus more on training quality.

Snuck up again.. vagaries of body weight.
Been watching "Always Another Adventure" on youtube ... an older gent, 64, bikepacker, fell runner, keen on being the best version of himself.
He mixes a lot of activity up, seems to do quite a variety. I'm pretty much just a cyclist. I walk but I'm not a hardcore walker.
So I went for a run ( run ! HA ! shuffle more like) on Monday and don't my thighs know it now! Managed a meagre 2 miles.
And I went swimming for the first time in probably 6 or 7 years last night and really enjoyed it. Did half a mile.
Hopefully if I can drink less beer ( I like a couple of bottles a night, so under 2 pints, but if I can drop that to the weekend only ...) do more, varied, exercise... we'll see in a few weeks ..
103kg start
103kg Jan.
102.9kg Feb.
103.3kg End Apr
I was originally keen and considered myself to 'know how to do this' but having been a bit poorly for 6 or 8 weeks I have made zero progress, negative progress in fact.
Exercise was off the menu for a while, but its back on now, even though a bit slow and steady.
No matter, I am still in and will try to get focussed.
Target of 95 by the summer solstice seems a stretch now, but lets see how close I can get!
I've been pretty slack about all this in 2024...but in last 4 weeks things are going in the right direction.
On the scales before flight yesterday at 73.0Kg. Was stuck at 74.2 for a while.

I've been drinking way too much again this last week. Really need to try and get away from using it to (try and) relax when I'm stressed.

Nice! Must be getting fairly svelte at that weight.

As previously mentioned, was drinking way too much this week, which resulted in some pretty sizeable weight fluctuations. Basically averaged out to where I wanted it to be though.
Next weigh in wont be for a while, off to cycle a whole bunch of miles in Spain. Will actually be fascinating to see what weight I come back as (hopefully I can find enough food!).
20/1 - 77.8kg
....
19/4 - 75.8kg
27/4 - 74.9kg
4/5 - 74.6kg
11/4 - 74.9kg - fair enough. Spent a bit of time propping up the biscuit tin having choc hob-nobs and bourbon chasers.

I've not been posting here on progress but I was hoping I'd be 79.3 kgs by may 25th. I'm sat at 83kgs with no healthy way of doing it in time. I'm not sad about it, but it's tough as I set that as a target.

2nd swim last weds was 1300m up from 800 the week before. That increase won't continue ! Hoping to go again tonight.
Trying the Dead Hang thing, supposed to be good for you to hang off a bar for 2 mins a day, presumably in a single hang, decompresses the spine , increases grip strength etc... I'm rubbish , first hang from our Yew tree I managed a whopping 17 seconds... grip just gives out.
I can do 25 seconds now... easing my way in. I've never been able to climb a rope etc. 57's probably too last to start that shizz. I'll see how it goes.
Just a single day measurement, but came back from the Spanish Divide at 59.5kg... given I ate like an absolute pig yesterday, that's really not good.
Spent 12 hours throwing up at one point and didn't really eat for the next 12 hours after that. I hate to think how much of my (barely present) muscle I lost. FFS.

Tantalisingly close to sub 15st .... I'm currently 10lb down on the year which is pretty good.
Did my biggest week on the bike last week with a meagre 70 south Shropshire miles, and a 1300m swim which I do enjoy and glad I started again.
We've also hit salad season and I love our salads. We have so much tasty stuff like olives, sundried tomatoes, jalapenos etc salad's don't need to be boring!
I've taken the 45mm tyres off the CDF and added skinny 32mm Schwalbe Marathon Plus for the summer. If I'm going offroad I'd use the Jones, so might as well have variety and a more lanes biased bike too.
They certainly roll nice and quietly... but braking and cornering will take some getting used to!
Away in the van next weekend, hopefully I can stay on track.
