I have been given a 2nd hand tent, not a particularly expensive one but decent enough.
There is a bit of a problem with it, that being it’s moderately manky inside where it was packed away damp, I was thinking maybe that Fabreeze spray that gets advertised a lot on TV but I was also thinking of sticking the whole inner into the washing machine, is this a normal thing to do??
Obviously I have no intention of washing the fly sheet.
Thanks for any replies.

A friend has just done this.
Stick in washing machine with graingers/nikwax tech wash, then reproof.
Nikwax TECH WASH and TX DIRECT Twin Pack, Technical Cleaner and Wash-In Waterproofer for Waterproof Clothing, 2x 300ml

Thanks, I’m glad it’s a “thing “ , being so close to 1st of April I didn’t want my question to be thought of as a joke!

IME it does not remove mould /stains but it does not smell/get worse

Thanks, just knowing it’s “clean mouldy stains” will be fine!

Re: Washing a tent inner?
A good soak with some Milton tablets will often remove mildew, worth a shot anyway
