We are hoping there is no intervention from the Tennessee state legislature, as we currently have seven runners in transition

Looks like there are seven runners(?) out on the last lap. First time that there's been this many left at this stage. The seventh made it out onto the final lap with just three minutes to spare!

I see Jasmin is going clockwise. Given this is the direction chosen by the leader, is she in for an easier* time?

Re: Barkley Marathons chitchat
Apparently Jared C waited for her before they started, then let her choose. Seeing as he already has three finishes, this feels like quite a wonderful sporting attitude.
As for easier, i guess in a way its supposed to be less hard.

We have a winner!
At time of writing (20:24) there are about 52mins left until entrants are timed out. Could be close for some. (dit dit daaa)

That's gotta hurt! "Damian Hall came in from the wrong direction after not completing loop five of the #BM100."

Looks like Jasmin is a non finisher in the time limit. Awaiting the update...hoping it's not the case.
EDIT!!! Nope, with just under 1 min 40s to spare. FLIP YES!

Crikey that were a close hobbling thing! I think she's the first Brit to finish it - the early years on the spreadsheet don't have nationality so can't be sure.
Largest ever number of finishers despite “That new section is brutal. You are a bad man.”

I don't think I have ever been quite so invested in Twitter. Normal service can now resume.

Excellent!
The first ever finisher was a Brit also.

Crazy. Imagine the mental state, just 2 minutes between total euphoria and total devastation. Less than 30 finishers in the event's history, 1st woman to complete. Awe inspiring.whitestone wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 10:24 pm Crikey that were a close hobbling thing! We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Anyway, that book, The Finishers: a brief insight into the chapters. Fascinating read it seems. Imagine reading the stories of the 15 finishers over the past 37+ years. Judging from this https://thepilloutdoor.com/feature/the- ... g/?lang=en it's gonna be a £45 well spent!
