WTD: Pro-action hikelite / Tiger paws / Argos tent

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Dee's on the look out for a Pro-action 1 man tent. They were sold by Argos and went under both Hikelite and Tiger Paws banners ... if anyone has one they want to part with let me know.

Ta.

Might be 2 on ebay? Descriptions are brief but to my untrained eye they look like they could be the elusive Tiger Paws. I did see an advert the other day where somebody was selling 2. Can't remember where though....

I have a vague memory of purchasing a couple of 1 man tents from Argos a few years ago. I've moved house since so finding them may be tricky :)

I'm not sure what make they are but, if I find them, I'll take a photo. One was used but the other was bought as a spare because they were so cheap...

Finally found an unopened box that had "Hammocks & stuff" written on it. 2 Pro Action 1-man tents inside. Not sure if they are what you are looking for but 1 of these is completely unused :)

If it is the right one let me know your address and I'll stick it in the post

Thanks for taking the time Richard but alas it isn't the tent she's looking for ... she wants one of these.

I've definitely got one, Stu, but like Richard I've recently moved house so I'll have to dig it out from the pile.

I do know that one of the poles is damaged but I'd been using one of the 'sleeves'/splints from another tent and it performed just fine. Probably fixable easily enough but I never got round to it!

I don't know if it's the same tent but I bought something that was cheap and looked very similar to that about 8 or 9 years ago. It was rubbish, it leaked loads and was not very stable. I used it once on a wet and windy night then binned it.

Just let me know if you find it ... reckon I can sort a new pole out

I'm hoping yours was different Ray ... but I won't be sleeping in it, so it doesn't really matter

As far as I can tell it's a clone of the MSR Microzoid with slightly less expensive materials - still came in at only about a kilo though so pretty amazing VFM! :-bd

I remember now why mine was so rubbish, the flysheet had large mesh covered vents on both doors (it opened either side) that where barely covered by rain flaps. Anything but vertical rain just came straight in  .

Thanks for the heads up but Drain sorted me out with one, made a rear pole for it this morning, stuck it up and one of the dogs promptly moved in :???:
