Frame bag number 2

I made a frame bag for my Occam. Nothing too clever, but there's a useful amount of space in there, enough to get at least a 1.5l bladder in, which is 1.5kg less on my back/hips, and the shape was always going to require a custom job.








Rather than making two compartments, I put one long zip in with two sliders, so the bottom can be opened without stuff at the top falling out - at least once I've made a little removable divider to go on the velcro already sewn in.

The seams need binding too, at which point I'll add some velcro to hold a bladder in place.

It's the little finishing bits that are always fiddly. Divider:



The postman's just been with my seam binding tape, so I suppose I better get that in while the sewing machine's out and it's cold and raining.

One change I made from my other frame bag was, instead of sewing separate panels for the tube faces, I just cut it as one long strip, sewed the webbing ladder on to the outside and wrapped it all the way the side panels. Which means less seams to bind (and potentially leak)

Binding seams is not the most ace part, but it's done (I haven't been doing it all night, just got back from the pub).
