Looks ace that place. Unfortunately I'm 'out' as the loo is about ten times as far from the bed as I can handle at my age

Re: Scottish Winter Bivvy 9th/10th December
I don't like to raise this but feel as unofficial non-organiser, I must.....
Weather warnings now showing across southern and south-western Scotland for rain. I'm not calling into question our fortitude for dealing with such things, more the tendency of the road network to grind to a halt and Scotrail to cancel services in wet weather after the Stonehaven crash last year.
I guess see what transpires tomorrow morning and re-convene. Also might be worth exchanging MB numbers.

Certainly looks pretty grim weather down there Phil. It’s becoming a bit of a tradition for the SWB weekend!
Anyway, whilst I haven’t yet decided on my route/distance in, my intention is to go for it. I’ll PM you my mobile number and am happy for you to share it with Dave Northwind and Gecko if it helps to coordinate things.

The weather was really nice in 2019 and 2017
I'm going to play it by ear but give it a shot via either Peebles or Moffat.
Gravel bike with long mudguards machine of choice I think.

Aye, looks a bit damp, but this isn't the Scottish Summer Bivvy
I'll probably park in Langholm and take the fairly direct route up the Megget Water. Maybe a bit of a longer ride on Sunday, weather looks a bit better.
Will PM you my number too Phil, and happy for you to share it on, seems a good idea.
Still looking forward to it!

Sat here looking at the weather, I'm selfishly feeling less gutted about not being able to join you
Have fun chaps. I'll join you in spirit, with a dram or two by our stove (and if I need the loo, I'll be sure to go outside and hover over the compost heap)

Well that was very good. Report to follow, but thanks to Phil for organising, and a genuine pleasure to make the acquaintance of Dave and Jimmy.

Pleasure was mine/ours Justin
Great to meet up with Phil and Jimmy again, and credit again to Phil for setting a date and location to tempt us out.
I rode back via Castle O'er - a lot of fire road and tarmac, but it got some miles in. It started off damp and was absolutely lashing it down by the time I got back to Langholm.

Re: Scottish Winter Bivvy 9th/10th December
A lengthy To Do list and a fair bit of lethargy have prevented me contributing any post-trip words before now. Anyway, I’d just like to echo the sentiments of the three other SWB attendees above. It was nice to catch up with Dave and Phil again and to meet Justin for the first time. Always a pleasure to meet up with like-minded people who 'get it'.
I’ll add a brief report and some pics over on the BAM thread later.
