Wednesday 18th Feb after work

Post by JohnClimber »

Weather depending I'm thinking of a mid week after work and before work on Thursday bivi night out.

I'll be driving back to home (Lancs/Mersey area) from Chichester on the south coast that day, so I was thinking of Cannock Chase or long Mynd or Forest of Dean* or even the Ridgeway*

Anyone else fancy a night out?

*never been here so would need a local

Have you heard of a bloke called collymore?
That should give you a clue to something that goes on around there.

dogging , boy racers , transvestite sex dens , pig man , and also the Cannock chase werewolf ,
rode through spring slade area on sunday where two men were getting quite friendly , I rode past at a rapid pace.
More dog turd in bags hanging on trees than you can shake a stick at.
I ride around the chase all the time and often thought of stopping up there, but it can get quite busy at night as you are never that far
alway from a road or carpark .
Cannock is good for a ride or day out but if you know the place its not to appealing for a overnight wild camp.
The long mynd on the other hand is a quite a nice place to ride and camp.

In total agreement with Burty. I almost spat my tea out when I saw the chase on your list. I would definitely go for the Long Mynd if I was you.

Thanks all, it's either Long Mynd or maybe pick up Barney and then head to Clocaenog Forest for a fire road bivi ride and a few extra miles the day afterwards.

Just seen the Countryfile forecast for the week ahead, which normally is quite accurate.

All's well until Wednesday afternoon then it all goes Pete Tong again with storms coming in again.

I know I should MTFU but if it's accurate I ain't bivi'ing in that

Says the man who's never bailed on a ride? Checking the weather forecast, then deciding not to ride constitutes a bail I reckon...

Barney has it right - it's only a bit of rain - you won't dissolve, it'll all be fine ;)
