Last time I found an alloy post stuck in a steel frame I went by using chemistry; I made some very highly concentrated sodium hydroxide and dissolved the alloy and the problem with it.

I wanted to do that, just because I've never done it and it looks fun, but I only had a tiny amount of caustic soda powder left, and it seems you can't buy it in shops over here anymore You can only buy it diluted, presumably for safety reasons. And by safety, I mean, of someone's profits.

Did mine in the lab with (iirc) 10 M NaOH I made from pure NaOH pellets at work. I also did it under the safety hood...

Knowing how satisfying it is, to build a bike from frame upwards, I can only imagine the sense of achievement that comes from doing the extra welding/painting/fettling involved in this build.
I can definitely imagine the smile on your face, when riding it.
