Hi,
I've got the wee one a Frog 62 bike. Only problem is that it osn't geared low enough for some hills we go up.
The chainring is 32T and the cassette is 11T-32T.
I initially thought of swapping out the chainring for a 28 or a 30T which would've lowered all the gears, however, having disassembled things this afternoon the chainring appears 'pressed' into the crank and not removeable/replaceable without swapping out the hole crankset as well.
Now looking at cassettes and most are starting at 11T/12T with bigs jumps at the 28 -36/40T range. I'd like a cassette starting at 12/13/14Tish (she's never managed to get in to the 2 highest gears...yet) and have more lower gearing
28/30, 32/34, 36T - but this does not appear to exist.
Looking for any advice/info from anyone who has lowered the gearing on a kids bike and point me in the right direction.

what kind of BB is in the bike.
if it is a sqare taper, i have a 28 tooth crankset you can have for the price of postage.
it is a specialized stout one.

Hi Ton,
It is a square taper. Do you know the length of the crank? It's to fit a 24 inch wheel bike for an 8yr old.

Microshift Acolyte 8 speed 12-42 cassettes are a tenner on CRC.

That's an option, but i think i'd need to change the deraileur and possibly the shifter. I'll do a bit more research on that.johnnystorm wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 10:48 pm Microshift Acolyte 8 speed 12-42 cassettes are a tenner on CRC.
