Just trying to get some resources together (thanks to one of the previous Covid edition events like this).
1. This little tool allows you to set a radius around where you want to stay within https://www.mapdevelopers.com/draw-circle-tool.php then just sent it to your partner.
2. https://gridreferencefinder.com/ to input the grid ref and check things out.
3. The actual page where I got some of this info and a link to the page of the threadtalking about Geograph app/site viewtopic.php?f=8&t=18491&start=125#p239411
4. The tool I uaed last year or the year before, I cannot actually find. It has everything overlaid into an OS map and could explore grid references... oh well!!

Right then... Since we have an odd number of entries (that's odd!) this year (who'd have thought). To ensure no one person is working double in making two sets of grid refs and there's another poor soul lazing around with nobodies grid refs to make. This is what we can do (as approved/endorsed by Jon).
If Jon can make the grid refs for Phil. Phil makes my grid refs. Shafiq (that's me) can make the GRs for Jon...
Phew... sorted... another problem off the old head!

Errr do we need to provide home grid refs as a starting point?

Not at all Phil.. Just a circle or square in which you want the 'the grid ref maker' to kmow where to find your map point thingies...fatbikephil wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 7:37 pm Errr do we need to provide home grid refs as a starting point?

Not quite centred on the house as I wouldn't be seen dead south of the river (Forth)
Of course, the large lump of hills in this is my local stamping ground and an OS map will reveal little in the way of paths - one time where OSM is much more useful. Plus there is some proper tussock bashing to be had here

In case anyone didn't know, the covid edition of many of these events were allowing us to sleep in our own back yard... Same with this NAWE, you can sleep in your back garden or shed... but not in the house... but ultimately it's up to you (if you did
).
