Cycled from home Friday afternoon in the direction of the Eigiau Cottage some 18 miles away. I've done the route many times and it was all on familiar territory. Cycled through Conwy and up onto the hills and lower slopes of Tal y Fan. The weather kept giving me glimpses of winter and I knew it would only get worse (better in a snow kind of way) the closer I got to the cottage. Arrived just after 6pm and I soon set about lighting the fire. I ended up staying for a couple of nights and chilling out big time away from everything.
Some pics and a film coming soon... 20221209_134018 by Jeff Price, on Flickr
Them 'sheep' were the very hardy Carneddau ponies which are a wild pony in the area.
And yes the sheep are well ard too!
I'd seen the mouse so put some maple syrup porridge oats outside for it and waited for ages for him/her to show up. Well chuffed though, got loads of good footage for the film too

I think you might have said before but whats the script with that bothy - I take it it's bookable?
I think it's a Climbing Club hut?
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.
Yeah the cottage is leased by the Rugby Mountaineering Club. Simply check the Google calendar on their website and email to book. The key are posted out a week before your stay.
