Phil, did it try and rename it to "Track"? That's what it appears as on my Garmin.

I looked at the actual file and this is the first part

Might not make much sense but there should be a <name>BB300</name> block after that lot - the BB200 file has one. It's that bit inside the < name> tags that is used as the track name on devices NOT the filename.

Bob, thats right, not something I'd noticed before. What confused me was that the name that appeared on the GPS was one I'd used to save a version from the OS app, even though this version had nothing to do with what I eventually used....
Looks like I have a viable track on the GPS so good to go. Maybe...

To the SE at 143km. it's slightly off route but not by much.

It took me far too long to realise that this was 143km into the 200 route and not the 300 found it though, cheers!

Excuse the noob question (I know right?), but is 8am the earliest start time for the 200?

Normally it's not an issue for me as I start late, but I'm in sub standard condition this year (hip problems) and I'd like to maximise the daylight as I think I'll struggle to get around.

I was over in the Lakes today and the difference from Monday is stark - the low lying fields in the Lyth and Winster valleys that were dry three days ago are now flooded - not sure if it's simply because the ground beneath the surface is still bone dry and rock hard so the heavy rain simply sloughed off and filled the becks and rivers which overflowed or the heavy rain last week (tales of sheep being washed away in Borrowdale) has saturated the upper layers. Might be a mixture of both. We needed to dig a hole today to put in a gate stoop and apart from the top centimetre or so it was bone dry down to a metre.

I went up Wrynose this Tuesday. Ppan was to go up and then back round (the rideable way) via Hardknotts. Was so windy up there that I had to abort. Came back down Wrynose and my rear wheel/tyre couldn't handle the wetness and locked out enough that I had to walk back down to stop myself sliding/riding off the road.

Rivers were up quite a lot yesterday but nowhere near to what they can be at this time of year. Today, they're probably lower than average for the time of year.

Also interestingly, Nov is now officially busier rider wise than Oct.
