September Equinox
Anyone planning or planned anything for this, a big ride out or a bivi night etc
Re: September Equinox
Yes I'd be up for that. Working so no long ride for me, but a collective equinox bivvy night would be grand.
Re: September Equinox
Something equinox themed maybe?
The eating apples and nuts and counting ones blessings sounds achievable....not sure I'd want to carry a fattened goose around with me...

Re: September Equinox
Would that be on the Thursday or the Friday, the next day for a gathering?
Or are we thinking about doing this alone?

Re: September Equinox
i would be up for that either solo or meet up Happy to ride the daylight or even the night time - though that makes the bivvy part somewhat harder
I can make it to Gogledd Cymru or to the peak district

Re: September Equinox
Is anyone still doing this?
Is it Friday night??
I always thought the equinox was on 21st...
If it is Friday that wouldn't be great for me as off to London early morning...
Might do a token one Thursday night instead...

Re: September Equinox
Seems I finish my night shifts on the Friday morning seem like a good idea to head out on the Friday night as my sleep pattern after shifts is normally pretty crap anyway

Re: September Equinox
So does that mean I need to bivi on Thursday night to be out on the Equinox which will be in the early hours of Friday?

Re: September Equinox
^ Sounds like it....
I'm tempted by this business with the geese.. they'd make a good "guard dog" for an exposed bivvy spot....

Doesn't say, but assume the fattened goose should be dead before you eat it....
Lots of ideas online as you might guess...
I like the idea of playing around with the theme of balance too...

Re: September Equinox
Thursday a bit dodgy for me but I suppose I need to make an effort. Building an altar with some fruit and veg is gonna take a bit of thought as well.

Re: September Equinox
Oh gawd... you're a nightmare you are woman... I've had a tough day sorting all the old fogies out and various carers and things... just got home.
Go on then. I'll just have to sling some gear on the bike and have a think where to go, and I'll have to steam round the house giving it my best shot picking up all the recommended pagan accoutrements and stick them in a rucsac.. who knows what I'll end up with.
And how am I supposed to ride to Stonehenge this late? It's a good 100 miles away.
Sigh! What we do for the cause, I don't know....

Re: September Equinox
Yeah come on you lot, we've all got an inner pagan.
I'm doing ok with the collection, but I'll be frank, I'm not finding it easy stuffing this goose into my rucsac so he may have to stay at home. He does look a bit infuriated with just his neck and head sticking out past the drawstring. Might have to be a panda instead, gimme a break.

Re: September Equinox
Rather than a fattened goose you could take a fattening mousse? Chocolate would be my preference, but other flavours are available.

Re: September Equinox
Good idea that 'Legs, or even a fat mouse, but too late I've set off. In fact I'm now in position so I'd better nip round the corner to the Trips department... see you there....
