I'm planning a weekend ride for end Oct/early Nov in and around Elan valley. Does anyone know what the trail running north from Gors-Wen to Llanwyrthwl is like? Here

We'll be riding gravel bikes with biggish (47mm) tyres.
Thanks!

Just the odd tussock to have fun with by the look of it
. And only a mile of HaB if it gets too much

Thanks, I'd forgotten about Geograph. What a great resource!
Looks OK to me.

Re: Route advice near Elan Valley
It featured on the 2017 BB200 going north-south, it was mildly boggy on the very top but still mostly rideable. Looking at Strava it took me 23 minutes to do the 2.5km "unsurfaced" section and I wasn't hammering it.

I have ridden it on a Thorn touring bike years ago and it was fine. A bit rutted and boggy in bits… but fine… but it was a while ago. It was much better than bit of the B 4358 race track that we rode afterwards.
