Re: Wtd: MSR Pocket Rocket 2
Just be aware Shaf that the Pocket Rocket is quite tall compared to many sit on top stoves - that may not matter to you but it might. The BRS is one of the shortest / smallest / lightest.

And have a look in Joe's Shop (if you haven't already)

Re: Wtd: MSR Pocket Rocket 2
Thanks Stu. That was actually why I was upgrading to it (ie. it being shorter than its predecessor) as I felt it would fit in my 0.6L pot. Since then I've also looked at the Deluxe version which led me onto the Soto Windmaster and their smaller PR equivalent.Just be aware Shaf that the Pocket Rocket is quite tall compared to many sit on top stoves - that may not matter to you but it might. Bear with me... So then I looked up that the Windmaster/Soto is made in Japan, thereby ticking my 'not made in abusive/genocide China' attempts. So I considered that maybe a bigger pot would be the order of the day - maybe something in 1L flavour that would hold stove/fuel etc. Then looked up MSR manufacturing and well as Toakes. That's when I made myself a breakthrough...
Toakes use a play on words to avoid their 'made in China' origins. Website states that, "Our products were always conceptualized, engineered, and produced by our own staff, driven by passion for innovative design (https://www.toaksoutdoor.com/pages/about-us)". Whereas MSR seem to be quite amazing and I'll be looking for my 'not made in China thread' to add em on.
They are part of the Higgs Index which ensures they keep a higher manufacturing ethic from start to finish (the pdf linked below has to be read

Anyway, back to my search... so a Deluxe version of MSR PR with a bigger pot; a Soto Windmaster and bigger pot; or something else but with good manufacture ethics/region and something self contained... I'll take a look at your BRS suggestion too ta Stu.

Just had a look at BRS... probably not the one for me at the present time. MSR or Soto it'll probably have to be

In that case Shaf, I can vouch for the SOTO, it's very good indeed.

Including the above and pending anyone else coming forward that wants to sell something on (which I doubt)... These be my options and buying from ULO is a no brainer... especially the amount of work thwy put into weights and reviews as well as the £15 minimal for free delivery
https://ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/poc ... stove-kit/ (359g 1.2L pot so a bit hefty)

I’d go for the Soto Windmaster, great stove, light and seriously fast and efficient, I paired mine with the Evernew titanium pot and it fits inside very neatly along with my Snowpeak mini spork.

Another for the soto windmastet ( based is stus windy review where only it boiled water )
Been faultless for me and tiny (.not cheap and may be China made

From their website
“ Designing, manufacturing, inspecting—it’s all done at SOTO’s factory in Japan. Piece-by-piece, each finished product must undergo a rigorous manual inspection. Only flaming devices that pass this inspection are released for sale in the world market.”

Yes.. what MacKnife said above. I noted that on their site and hence had narrrowed it down to them two (MSR and SOTO)... How small a pot would I get away with pls Jon.
MacKnife, I saw the Evernew and again made in Japan it seems (so, good find and recommendation and i5 looks lovely). Price is a bit restrictive for me at the mo though and hence why I'd been looking at the smaller SOTO that comes as a kit and some reviews compare it with the MSR PR Deluxe.

I had the Amicus before I upgraded to the windmaster, it too is a fantastic stove so that kit with the pot should be ideal, the stoves are brilliant if it’s breezy.

pan support DIAMETER is 5 cm to 14 cm - obviously you could go bigger than 14 cm as it would still be on the pot. At the smaller scale realistically a 6 cm [ but would need to be careful] should fitHow small a pot would I get away with pls Jon.
If you mean capacity i have a 350 or 400 ml [ I forget which ] that fits

Thanks everyone... Without further ado, I went and got this (fanstatical) deal... Hoping the stove might fit in current 0.5L pot which makes it even more fantastical and smaller print...
