We are designed to eat lots of food, not starve ourselves, as we need lots of food to run away or after things (i.e things that will eat us or things we wish to eat) So dieting and fasting are unnatural.
So eat food and in the absence of something to run after or run away from, go ride your bike

Having worked as an academic and scientist for many years, I will assure you, many scientists have still yet to discover bonking.
