On-One Merino Core Element Short Sleeve With Zip arrived today but it's a funny cut. Medium is right round the chest but to baggy round the waist. I think a small will be to small in the chest but the right size in the waist. Going to swap it for On One Performance Fit Short Sleeve Base Layer which looks like it will be a close cut all over which is what I'm really after.

Lovely, thanks!
My on-one odd handlebars have arrived after getting scared and returning to the shop. I also got some lime green bar end caps (have a whyte) for colour matching and thickie socks. And couldn't resist the winter hat with the pom-pom

There is a little video which shows it in action. I found tin foil a bit of a pain and this is basically a luxury version in that it works great and is very stable.
If you had a stove like Stu's it can be used as a pan stand for anything you want quite high above the heat. Maybe to keep something warm rather than get all the heat.
BTW, the website is really good. Video's for most pieces of kit and a good range. The video reviews do offer some negative comments or advisories which is always a good sign.

Re: The post man's been ...
Sorry just want to avoid any confusion ... the 8g and 22g stoves are designed to work with the pot/mug placed directly on top. They'll still work with the pot held higher (like resting on top of the windshield) but they won't work as intended. A centre burner would be the way forward with this type of set-up. :)If you had a stove like Stu's it can be used as a pan stand for anything you want quite high above the heat. Maybe to keep something warm rather than get all the heat.
Quick aside regarding the fold up Vargo windshields. They can be a little too good at blocking air with certain stoves, increasing the size of the gaps at the base or just lifting it 5mm higher (place it on some twigs or small stones) can make a big difference.
May the bridges you burn light your way
Re: The post man's been ...
Yep, thought it would fit nicely round the outside of the mug/8g stove set up... And thanks for the link there, but one review says:
I ordered the blue one which meant it didn't reflect much heat back (doh!) but it looks good
What colour reflects back best? I'm trying to remember science classes from school now
Silver? Or does it not really matter?

Surely looking good at the bivi is the key factor in product choice?Yorlin wrote:Yep, thought it would fit nicely round the outside of the mug/8g stove set up... And thanks for the link there, but one review says:

In extensive experiments with a blue version I found the heat from my stove moved in an upwards direction.

A pair of Biotex waterproof arm & leg warmers and load of tools from Planet X. The warmers for the commute and the tools to fill up the massive tool cabinet SWMBO got me for Christmas. :)
