I don't get weekends off, and miss a whole magnitude of rides, or have to use holiday allowance which doesn't ever go down well at home and I now have to work the Saturday I wanted off.
My Jennride will be starting at 830 pm after working. If you see my lights heading in the wrong direction of Jennride, don't worry, it's all part of the plan to have at least Sunday with you all.

Hi guys and gals just one for the diary hope you can all make it
#jennride2022 will be on the 28th/29th of May .
Hi
Does anyone know a person that might like a transferred place - with Postierich's permission of course. I've been a divvy and double booked myself with the HT550.
Trepid lots of spaces available as lots of people seem to be bottling it
If you don't request a refund your entry fee will go to the charity pot once everything is paid for.
How many off the forum are doing it Roll Call please

Me and the other half will be there .
Had to do a different day 1 as the wife is not rad knarrr on her bike
Also her first time riding up there .
But we shall be picking it up from the bottom of hard knot pass day 2 as it will greatly reduce the amount of eye rolling I have to do
Wow only 5 from the forum ;-) suppose its a bit harder to actually bike pack than it is to talk about it
Very disappointed with the returns and lack of donations on the just giving site , toilets have been booked so unable to send a couple back suppose thats the problem when you do a very low entry fee and hope people will donate.
To incentivise people there will be a free bar Friday night with fire pits and a burger van on site which will do butties in the morning from 6.30am.
Hope to see a few more of you @ the weekend
Big thank you to Singletrack World £250
Charlies Bum Butter £100
Gorilla Brake Pads £100
Stu @ Riders Cycle Centre £100
Stu Taylor Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery (lots of beer)
Alpkit for the feed stations (treats) don't rely on them

My experience of events is that 20 - 30% of folk don't turn up, regardless of how much they pay for entry. Maybe time to up the entry fee, skip the donation element and don't offer returns/refunds.
FWIW I was never likely to travel down to the event but fuel (and other living) costs are increasing so I can see that might play a part.
Also, trying to make the course more and more challenging (or even just hinting at that) means you are going after an increasingly small section of the market. I'm not going to drive several hundred miles to push my bike up a hill. I can do that from my house

I think Rich has stated (on here or elsewhere) that following Storm Arwen the forests in the South Lakes are pretty much out of bounds for organised events which limits options somewhat. There was still a lot of wind blow on Claife Heights and in Grizedale Forest just a few weeks ago, quite worrying getting past it with everything creaking away. There's not many easy options to get from the South Lakes to the North so route options are further limited.
There's not a lot of technical terrain between Gatesgarth Pass at 25km and starting up Styhead Pass at around 100km so the potential Hike-a-bike is actually quite small.
Better weight than wisdom, a traveller cannot carry

Does anyone have the gpx for it or is that in the emails
Colin... so is it gonna be a super hard ride this
My understanding is that routing has been impacted by the number of fallen trees, somewhat limiting the options. I've seen a couple of photos/read some comments but other than that, I can't compare it to previous events.
I,m not grumpy honest I forget about the cost of fuel and stuff! Saying that I,m using the train at the minute to get from A to B as its a hell of a lot cheaper
Will be good to see you all and there is zero hike a bike push yes but no hike a bike
Dont be late Jase ;-)

Hi Rich. Not sure if the messages is coming through so here I am. I've got my ticket and made a donation and wondered whether I missed the gpx file that was meant to be sent out closer to the ride day. sorry for being so hasty...
