I'm hoping it is ideal TD prep Dave, as I just rode 380 miles on it (and to and from home). Really enjoyed it, just watch the headwind across the ridge on Salisbury plain. Some cracking scenery and very popular.

I bivvied a fraction before Chirton Friday night, so was probably 5 miles behind you. I finished at Uffington Hill. I don't know how you bivvied on that Hill in that wind!Dave Barter wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 2:52 pmI started and finished at Salisbury. Solid headwind for much of the route. In my youff spent most of a day in a hot barn on a welding project in shorts and found out you can get sunburn from an arc welder!!Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 8:25 pm No brake bits so the day remained quite cheery ... the only slight hick-up was welding in shorts but it's a unique look.

Got the day off, which I’m probably going to end up spending most of trying to work out how to tie guylines on to a tarp and pitch it for the first time. Nothing like leaving things to the last minute.

Gian (Alpinum) is coming to the WRT. And I've just got an entry for the Iditarod Trail Invitational. Don't think it gets much better than that on a Friday

Looks like you're giving your paraglider a bath there Sean
.
Right. Friday then. Just about to stick my bicycle on a train.
I shall spend three and a half hours staring aimlessly out of the window, drinking tea, thinking about nothing in particular, and probably having the odd chat with a random stranger. Or a random chat with an odd stranger. Either's fine.
If there's a more productive use of one's time I'd like to know what it is.
If I'm really lucky, a scantily clad young lady will attempt to traverse the carriage from one end to the other solely by using the luggage rack, as happened on my way to a WRT a while back. One can but hope.

...because the bikes on the roof of the car and the bags are in the boot. Stop over with my partner tonight and off to the WRT first thing tomorrow!!!

Car is packed, stress level are high, as I'm sure I've forgotten something important. Off to Sigma Sports in Oakham to pick up a new GPS, then on to The Wynnstay...

Cheery here despite not being at the WRT due to a very foooooked knee, first I finished early and was home by 2pm
then I remembered it’s a bank holiday
and just to put the cherry on Friday,s cake I managed to book two tickets to ‘Rage Against The Machine’ in August
just warming up the valve amp, waiting for the beer to chill and Fridays beer and vinyl fest can commence

FInally tied some guys on to the tarp and a test pitch was achieved, albeit rather low to the ground. I now know a whole 2 knots
