$100 is apparently what the quad lock mount costs. And is what I paid for the whole lot. It's a 6KU Fixie with a flip/flop hub. Came with the helmet thrown in. Under the mould and red chain is what looks like an almost brand new bike.
Cheaper than bringing the Bad Boy down from Canada
Sat here with a Thornbridge McConnel's "Creamy Vanilla Stout" watching three baby blackbirds, born in our hedge, hopping around our yard being fed by mum and dad. Beautiful singing. One of my favourite avian companions. Very cheery.
Other than that, come on somebody, it's Friday, engage us all with your sparkling wit and repartee! Unless something happens soon I'm just going to have to extract Roger's Profanisaurus from the loft again and amuse myself with that instead.
Edit: I can see you there Pickers! How's it going chap?

It's really not very exciting but ... on Sunday I shall be attending my first rove in nearly two years. Despite the 'Covid years' there were roves but due to Dennis, I stayed home with him. Now he's no longer here, I'm free to go. Kind of a double edged sword I suppose but it'll be nice to fling some little sticks with bigger sticks again.
Sorry Reg, dull as ditch water Friday here. The Bavarian Behemoth passed it's MOT and I appear to have fixed its dicky fuel gauge with a gas lighter (again) which, for me, is cheery. But of no interest to anybody else I suspect. Duty Manager this weekend so the garden will be getting a good seeing too but not much bike riding wise planned other than a quick blast on the fixxy, like as not.
Sorry Reg, don't have anything particularly interesting to add from today. It was certainly a cheery morning to be out when I popped to get a couple of things from the shops.
I mitred some sleepers for a raised bed pretty accurately with just a hand saw, which I was fairly cheery about.
Made some hot cross bun dough, but it's going to prove overnight, so it's more future cheeriness.
I've learnt the word "rove" as pertaining to archery (at least I think that's what he's getting at, unless it's to do with his new lay-by-based pasttime), although only really it's existence, since it's meaning is still evading me. Is it just a general term for an archery "meet"?
Is it me, or does "extracting Roger's Profanisaurus from the loft and amusing yourself with it" sound like something that should have a definition in the book itself?

A very old form of Archery Dave. A number of 'marks' (often flags) are laid out at random distances - could be 50 yards between two but obscured by trees or over 200 yards. Everyone forms a line (usually quite random and wonky) and shoots three arrows that they hope will be as near to the mark as possible. Everyone walks to the mark to see whether they've scored ... 1 bows length from the mark is 15 points, 2 is 10 points and 3 is 5. Sometimes scoring is done on the 'upshot' which means only the shooter of the arrow nearest the mark scores. The process continues shooting from one mark to the next. I've made it sound like golf but it's actually much better and in my mind is to archery what bikepacking is to cycling - full of characters and very limited rules
Traditionally, it was a way for people to practice archery (a legal obligation BTW) often while on their way to church.

his new lay-by-based pasttime
that particular sliver of gossip has unaccountably passed me by

It does! It's a bit recursive though. "For 'extracting Roger' see "extracting Roger".....".....
Loved that explanation of 'roving' from Stu. Quite cheered me up did that.

Hope everyone's having a pleasant weekend - I've had a lovely day throwing sticks int' air. Ruby's first proper rove and he was as good as gold. Only downside was the vans wing mirror glass ejecting itself onto the M6 with no provocation whatsoever. However, the good news was that Greggs still had some hot steak bakes left on the way home

Only hot? Probably baked sometime in the last century then!
Been quite a pleasant weekend, ta. Nice morning paddling on the Tyne this morning, really feeling like spring now. Down at my mum's now, and had a nice chicken dinner (winner).
This one enjoyed her first rove but the little 'un absolutely loves it and can't contain her excitement when an arrow gets released ... right, I'll stop it now and we'll go back to discussing sh1t up mountains
Used to enjoy a bit of AWOL and Backstreet Heroes back in the day.
I used to write quite a bit for the custom / classic mage once upon a time ... much in the custom world appears to have changed and not all for the best sadly.
