Say you set off on Sat and ride for 6 hours then camp up for the night. The next morning you carry on from where you left off and continue back to Sat starting point.
Will it pick up from where it left off and record Sat and Sun as a continual ride or 2 seperate ones?
I know on my Garmin there is a single GPX file for a two day bivi ride. When I upload it to some websites I get asked if I want to upload one day or all. However this is the website's software splitting the data points up.
With regards Strava, this was done with a Garmin:
http://www.strava.com/activities/104407578
As you can see there is a seperate 'moving time' and 'elapsed time'.
Time 11:49:04
Elapsed Time 48:34:40
In fact, it is hard to spot where I slept (at the 61 mile mark). Strava isn't interested in the stopping parts which is a shame in a way because a flag to say 'long pause here' would have been good.
In fact, I didn't delete or reset the garmin for the above ride since the BB200 so when uploaded is said I'd done several hundred miles over the period of several weeks. It has a nice crop mechanism to chop off the unwated bits from the start or end of a ride if you forget to put the start or end in the right place.
