While I was out posting things for other people, Terry the post dropped me off a 30mm metal dimple die ... now I can dimple gussets till my heart's content or I'm fed up of doing it.

A Polaris enduro jacket. They emailed me to let me know they didn't have any vapours left. Seems pretty good, looking forward to testing it out on a little spin tomorrow. Cheers for the heads up.

my mate has done 200 of these in the wing and fuselage of his MYOA, (Aeroplane). Every one a different size, so had to use a roller flanging tool (well you know what I mean). All within aviation spec & inspection regime.. (I'd go crackers just doing the deburring...)
He bought the drawing, but there is no construction guide. so he had to plan a head & work out every step. 'if this goes in i can fit that later, if I fit that I can fit this etc...'.*
[ I helped build the wiring looms..' & bind them.. cable ties don't really work here with vibration., because ties + sheathing adds weight compare to soft splicing line...'.

he should write a book but I bet he' ll be too busy like the other aero constructors
*it's currently 60% of the way there, he's spent £40+K & turned down a £250k offer of 50%share on completion. There are 5 globally, airworthy.

A new alpkit gamma headtorch, to replace the one which mysteriously died - after a decade of faultless service.

I'm guessing that the faulty one will be the subject of dissection, tonight

Some axle bearing presses, so that I won't have to resort to an 18mm and a hammer, next time

Unfortunately, the fault seems to be a broken wire, just at the point where it enters the only sealed part of the whole thing. Have resigned myself to putting it into the spare parts drawer, as the main light body and electronics are identical to the new one. I guess that 10 years of use is relatively acceptable, but I don't like throwing stuff away

I have a alpkit head torch, I can't remember which one, it green and the 2 aAa batteries go in a battery career the into the head torch.
Anyway the cable died, (poor quality control/specification?) an internal short because of poor grade insulation cracked, (it now brittle rather than flexes). the outer sheath is fine.. I may swap it from a alditorch..

Probably best not to pursue it, for example by googling "gravel as fuck" . Despite the somewhat tortuous grammar in this particular case, the word "as" often implies some comparison between the encircling two nouns hence my comment. In fact both words could be taken as verbs as well, although the verb "to gravel" is usually used in sentences involving the application of small stones to a road surface rather than sentences involving the manoeuvering of velocipedal conveyances across terrain that some riders might claim to be "challenging" despite that not remotely being the case .

Nice at that price. First hammock? Super. Most comfortable campy sleepy you will ever have, though eventually, you might have to factor in an underquilt and a bigger tarp than you might already have (IME 3x3 is a good option, slung diagonally over your hammock) Welcome to The Hang.
