I’m in Shropshire hills, just up road from L.Mynd. It’s -5 deg C out there at the moment and going down, anyone out in this area this weekend would do well to have warm kit.
Thinking back to the first few we did way back then, the nights were punishing for cold some years in mid October. We’re not getting as cold a weather as early in the season anymore. That’s global warming for you.
Wish I was joining this year, but I am still nursing some recurring foot problems which I am keen to resolve. I've been watching the thread and hoping everyone has great time on the Nov edition this weekend!

I’ve been watching the forecast and have convinced myself it’s going to be lovely and warm
....and not at all windy
My first BB ride so not sure what to expect.....what could possibly go wrong???
The route is very similar (well it covers quite a bit of the same general area) as my first BB200 in 2016 and apart from the last 10km it was pretty straightforward. Think slightly muddier version of the Dales and you won't be far wrong. In fact this year's route is not too dissimilar to Stuart Rider's YD200 routes.

Well, I've avoided my usual cock up on these events, my cycling boots are in the car ready and not screaming at me from the porch as I drive away, as often happens.

I usually pull over after 10 minutes to see if they're still in the van...

Here in Shropshire cloud cover came over night and looks set to remain over weekend, no wind; so it’s cold but not freezing.
I’m out of touch, having lived away from Wales for 4 years.
Is anyone having a drink this evening anywhere, in the company, or not, of other bikepackers?
I contemplated going to the Wynnstay, but I'm going to be good and just park up in the van and relax for the night. I've not drank for two weeks. Not really something to boast about, more reason why I've decided against it. I wouldn't be able to control myself to not just have one and feel sick the next day.

I'm at the Aleppo in Carno but if there's a hub/gaggle/conference/aroma of BBers anywhere, I'll pop over for a swift half.
