I went down the wrong side of the hedge line and missed it completely
Me and (another lad) missed it aswell. He was a chap that turned up out of nowhere and had had a rough night. I was second to last til that point. I said the tracks 'this way' so I went and he followed or other way round. 5 ounce of mud later and about half a mile down the track we realised we missed the technical section.
He jumped his bike over the fence and I didn't wanna tell him it's a 'if you go off route, then come back and reconvene where you left it (or however Stu describes it in the blurb)' type of ride. Found the technical bit and then realised what all the racket from the bike was.

Saw poor good lad about 15 miles remainder whilst I was stood in the farmers field about to start prayers. Not sure if he saw me but I'd not blame him if he chose to ignore (the friggin mud).
Anyway... Stu, they both need a DQ. Which means I wasn't last (after 3 DNFs
