Nice one, time to get the highlighters out and get planning.
Thanks Stu/Dee
Bit miffed about the Strava ban although I could see it coming once the November date was added.
For me it’s annoying but as I know the thinking and culture of this place I was resigned to it happening. I do however wonder what any low use/ non-forum users will think about it.

I don't think it's a ban on Strava, just switch to private.
Just upload the activity to Strava and set it that only you can see it. Nothing else needs to be done. I use that all the time when I'm out with my kids etc.
Then if you really crave the kudos, unhide it after the November event.
I might send a screen grab of my ride deets to my roadie club whatsapp group after the event as the response will be 100% why TF, not "can I have that route".

There is no 'ban' - people are welcome to use Strava, I'm simply asking that they don't share the ride publicly until after Nov 7th.
Of course those of us on the November start are just itching to get out and do a recce ride
I think I left my Strava activity of last year's BB200 set to private until a couple of months ago - with it being essentially open as a challenge most of the winter. By the time I set it to public it was so far back in my activity feed that it didn't pick up any kudos (just checked - it still hasn't got any!)

I'm doing this years for 10 orphans so planning (unless Stu says otherwise) to share the screengrab of the private activity and make a manual strava activity with the screenshot zoomed out enough that no-one can take it and go recce it. That should fulfill all criteria all round...

Cheers Stu. Nay idea of the terrain obviously but my first thought is "Carry all your food as there is little or non en-route"

Can I do this on a gravel bike?
You could...but you'll probably break it in the process....if you do, opt for Sintered Pads!!!!
