tbh I'm mildly surprised that flushing toilets have reached the IoW.

No wonder you went backwardsConfession time - turns out the Gower peninsula isn't in the north west of Wales where I thought it was

That’s okay, I once confused Carmarthen and Caernarfon when accepting a university place 25 years ago. Worked out in the end though…

Re: Gower July 24th?
Friday night camping.
We'll aim to leave the pub at 8:30pm and head to the coast
If late follow this GPX
We'll aim to camp somewhere along it
https://my.viewranger.com/route/details/NDA1OTk5NQ==
In the morning we'll go find a cafe out of the rain.
Sean and I are leaving Soton around 4pm (hopefully)
So hoping to be at the pub for 8pm ish

Re: Gower July 24th?
Yay, we've now got a yellow weather warning for Saturday and Sunday

Re: Gower July 24th?
I was planning on cycling the Icknield Way, but got pinged with a weather warning yesterday. After the two hour thunderstorm we had on Tuesday, I don't think I want to be out cycling in that for two days. I think I might just watch the Olympic cycling instead...
There are theories at the bottom of my jargon.

It'll be fine. I'm fairly sure none of us is made of salt.

It will have to be, just booked my ferry ticket. A few last minute questions:-Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Thu Jul 22, 2021 9:31 am It'll be fine. I'm fairly sure none of us is made of salt.
Will I need my water filter or will we pass enough pubs/cafes/taps?
Head net/smigdge required?

It changes every two minutes anyway and it's often/usually not as bad as the forecast...
Re: Gower July 24th?

Don't know what you're all worrying about, a few isolated thundery showers will be the least of your challenges on a stunningly beautiful peninsular that is one of Wales' busiest destinations, and on the first weekend of the school holidays too
I love The Gower, would have loved to be able to join you this weekend

We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Re: Gower July 24th?
Having finally got my bikepacking mojo back last weekend, I’m not about to ruin it by getting soaked this weekend, so for that reason, I’m out. Have fun all.
