That’s okay, I once confused Carmarthen and Caernarfon when accepting a university place 25 years ago. Worked out in the end though…

We'll aim to leave the pub at 8:30pm and head to the coast

I was planning on cycling the Icknield Way, but got pinged with a weather warning yesterday. After the two hour thunderstorm we had on Tuesday, I don't think I want to be out cycling in that for two days. I think I might just watch the Olympic cycling instead...

note that I'm on roads not tracks ). Am jealous. Although "yellow rain" sounds a bit worrying - might be more likely with more planes going overhead. Best take sou'westers to save getting literally pissed on.

It will have to be, just booked my ferry ticket. A few last minute questions:-

Will I need my water filter or will we pass enough pubs/cafes/taps?
Head net/smigdge required?

Absolutely.

It changes every two minutes anyway and it's often/usually not as bad as the forecast...

Don't know what you're all worrying about, a few isolated thundery showers will be the least of your challenges on a stunningly beautiful peninsular that is one of Wales' busiest destinations, and on the first weekend of the school holidays too

I love The Gower, would have loved to be able to join you this weekend
