I've got to say I had a blast last weekend on my 1st Jennride. OK I may not have rode the whole route but JC put together a fine route and a great group of 6 of us really enjoyed it.
Here's a very short (49 seconds) edit of my ride. I do have a much longer 20 minute version going on my YT this weekend but I can imagine most folk will not want to waste that amount of time watching it.

Looks great.
Do either of you have a gpx of the route you would be willing to share?
Also, for a non technical rider would there be much walking? Could you say what colour it would be at a trail centre?
I'm interested as there don't seem to be many lakes routes I could do, and that looks mostly doable, unless you edited out all the gnarliest bits

Of the full route (which we didn't do) I'd say that most of it would be green/blue but the section by the River Lickle to Stephenson Ground and the descent down to the Newfield at Seathwaite would be a hard red. Somewhat hard to give trail centre grades to natural routes as the tracks/trails weren't designed with bikes in mind so there's often no "flow".

Apparently someone asked if the route was gravel - my comment to that was that if your definition of gravel extended to football sized stones then yes.

I was more looking for the gpx of the version John did, but given what you said I'll download the whole route too.
I appreciate you're point re trail centre grades, it's so hard to get an idea of what something will be like but if I know it's not too technical, or I can walk the tough bits I'll be happy having a go.

All walkable - the BWs in the Lakes are often old pack horse routes so often rough but usually OK. The Lakes weather has taken its toll on many over the years so what might have been pitched stone in times gone by are now rubble fields.

This is one of the tech bits going up Walna Scar.



This is the hard bit at the bottom of the other side of Walna Scar - the Seathwaite descent is similar.

Possibility of a jape round there in August. Mrs Perrin visiting a mate in Lancaster. I'm excluded from the girly night in so was thinking of jumping back on the train and round to Ulverston or somewhere then up into the hills from there. Not interested in any pre-set routes though, and obviously need to put time aside for the Stan Laurel Museum .

WS gets to just over 600m. There's some pushing from whichever side you choose to do it. From the West it's pretty much all pushing with a couple of rideable sections from the bottom until you get to the halfway gate. From Coniston you've a steep (25%) road to the car park then mostly rideable (apart from the rock gates) until the start of the zig-zags, then it gets loose and it's mostly pushing until just short of the summit.
