It's slightly different this year and doesn't go as far West either

It makes Wrynrose Pass a bit later on look like a billiard table

Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
Are there any places left for this?
Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
Seems to be currently sold out: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/jennride ... 7677670889
Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
Is there a way to download the route gpx without paying money to ride with gps? Trawled through my emails for this and can’t find a different link or any route files with the tickets.
Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
When you view the route on RideWithGPS, there should be a More ⌄ button on the left hand side, click on that and then click on the Export as File option from the resulting menu.
* I should caveat that by saying that works on other routes, no idea about the Jenn Ride route, as I canny find it, as their website search is bollocks.
There are theories at the bottom of my jargon.
Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
Right, I downloaded the app and was trying in that.
I shall fire up the ‘puter and try that
Edit: sorted that did it, now deleting their shitty app…..

I'm also coming along. I think the legs are starting to work. Not sure about me 'ead but I'm sure she'll be reet by the time I get there. Just looking at the route a) it's yeeeeers since I've been to the lakes and can't remember anywhere. b) it'll be nice to be somewhere that has some food and fairly regular intervals.

Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
I'm thinking I might do this as a social ride rather than smashing it out. Going to see who I end up with on the day and probably just stick with them.
Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
Would be good to catch up Rich after the last wrt. I’ll not be rushing round.
How rough going is the route generally? Not ridden in the lakes for donkeys years. Remember walna scar being pretty rocky but don’t know about the rest of it.
Put the suspension forks on the el mariachi or go the full hog and bring my spearfish???? Sure either will be fine, but don’t usually use the spearfish for bike packing as it feels like overkill.
To be fair I don’t usually use suspension at all

Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
if i had a choice of bikes, and one was a full susser and i wasnt in a rush, that would be my choice.
lakes descents are not AS much fun on full rigid.
i crashed on a long rocky descent last year, riding full rigid. it ended my ride.

Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
Anyone got any decent (not too technical) 4+ hour rides in this area? I just remembered that I'm actually getting there a couple of days early so I can do some extra riding.
Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
with the Moors 100 being called off again, i have just entered this again.
i have tried this twice and failed both times. fingers crossed this time.

Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
Where are you stopping Rich?
There's a good network of routes either side of the Kentmere Valley - runs north from Staveley if you look on a map - this year's route just touches it but previous years have used quite a few of the BWs. Quite a few are rideable in both directions so not that technical, the only exception is the eastern side of Garburn Pass, def full-suss territory. Here's a shorter ride we did a month or so ago - https://www.strava.com/activities/5268203260
There's some good stuff in the area between Coniston - Langdale - Ambleside. Again you'll do a few of these on the Jennride itself. Found this from my Strava - https://www.strava.com/activities/799777878/ but there's quite a bit more around there, this is from the very first Jennride - https://www.strava.com/activities/577159893/
Edit: Just entered so we'll see you there Rich.

8 places have just been refunded if anyone fancies the #jennride
Re: #jennride 2021 26th June
Staveley, cheers for the suggestions. Driving to the start of something good is fine too.
I don't mind walking a short descent, but I'd rather avoid any long tech sections (not tempting fate with injuries right now!).

Same here, not sure if I’m scared or excited, apparently they have some hills?

We’re all individuals, except me.
I woke up this morning but I’m still in the dark

It'll be good to see some old faces next weekend.
Having a look at the route, there seems to be a fair amount of road?
What bikes are people taking?
Rigid 29ers or FS?

Scared and excited.
I'm on a rigid 29er because this is what I have. Wish me luck

To be fair Tony, you did have a bit of an "off" last time

Not sure what I'll be on Chew - Solaris or Spearfish, can't decide at the moment. Trying to figure out where would be suitable for bivvying - the "natural" place for an early evening meal would be Langdale but you then head into the Ambleside area where there isn't much scope to be hidden.
