Re: Cannock area 19/6
Keen to see y'all up there again, but will have to make the call nearer the time, sorry to wibble.
If nothing else I need to be there for the Advanced Meths Stove Operator's Refresher Course that you'll no doubt be running
. Can you let me know the booking fee for that please?

I've checked with my social secretary and that date looks good. I've done 10 miles in the last 10 months on a bike but should be good to go.

Re: Cannock area 19/6
Upon re-reading the advertisement, I'm mildly concerned by this bit ^^. Do you know some "nice" bivvy spots in, say, Hednesford then? Brownhills? I mean I'm always up for a challenge

Ooooh ... looks like I'm free that weekend after all ...
Stu, what's the likely meet up time/location? It's a bit of a drive from here so might come up the Friday night.
Reg, you want a lift? You will have to endure a few hours of BBC4 on the wireless, as usual.

Nowt wrong with a bit of R4, however I'd prefer to train it Tim, ta for the offer - only an hour from LB.TheBrownDog wrote: ↑Sun May 16, 2021 5:55 pm Ooooh ... looks like I'm free that weekend after all ...

I’m up for this, spring thing, WRT, Moors 100, Woods Grand Rando, busy calendar! Don’t worry about the fitness Stu, I think most of us are recovering from lockdown as well.
We’re all individuals, except me.

Nice one Stu, We pubbin' or picnicin' at tea time? That last boozer was a little underwhelming wasn't it
. Cannock New Hall Arms? Rugeley Vine? Hednesford Bridge Inn? Cans of White Lightning on a bench in the park?

Whatever we decide mate there’s a few different pubs , bare in mind we’ll have to be up and about early on Sunday depending on where we bivy up , as it’ll either be dog walkers or the boys on bouncy bikes start getting there about 630-7

Re: Cannock area 19/6
Right just checking if anyone is still up for this or if preferred a night down the long mynd , if not then I’m pretty sure we’ll catch up soon enough now we’re nearly out of it , if anyone is still up for it then I’ll probably get to Cannock for around 3 or down to little Stretton either lunch time or early evening depending what suits , will have to book food so show of hands by end of week would be appreciated, don’t forget Cannock means getting up early long mynd means a lie in so your choices
Re: Cannock area 19/6
I'm still up for Cannock, I've even been out on a bike! If people do decide on Long Mynd I'd have to check with my social secretary again since that'll be a much longer there and back.

Re: Cannock area 19/6
BOLLOX. Out. Really sorry gent(esse)s. Was dead looking forward to this knees-up and seeing everyone again. Perrin family stuff now intrudes. Well, stuff on the hippopotamus side anyway so it's out of my hands.
So that's this fallen by the wayside, and Lu unavailable at the moment for the Pensioners' Night Out, so I'm gonna have to come up with some sort of emergency backup scheme for June it seems. Hmm.

Re: Cannock area 19/6
Stu I'm still in for this fella. Would prefer the Chase as it's an easier drive up. Could be there for 10am if you fancy a long slow slog of a ride. You know me. I have one speed ... bimble.
Pub dinner then?

Re: Cannock area 19/6
Should be able to make it, the horns pub has changed hands and is doing very well on the food front now so think we would have to book up, I will check it out, then there's the barley mow at Milford used to do nice food, or over gentleshaw way
it's not that I can and others can't, it's that I will and others won't.
