FWIW it's currently a lovely evening. The best weather in a few days. I expect most will be cracking on and taking advantage of it.

Re: HT550 2021
I've had a rubbish tablet open on DotWatcher.CC all day in work, I can't believe the mileage in the time elapsed from the top few.
When I go to sleep, I wake up and it's the first thing I check, I love to see who rode through the night whilst I was all tucked up.

Agreed, it's astonishing. I'm assuming there's some pretty amazing elevation figures too? Can't quite see a way of figuring it out from trackleaders
Re: HT550 2021
Thank you!
Been travelling back from Anglesey today, so have some dot watching catching up to do

*In no way am I putting down the Stooge Scrambler, it's a great bike, but it's miles away from a carbon race whippet with all the latest parts, quite literally in this case![]()

Trying to ride bikes.
Re: HT550 2021
Day 1 - (the first 120-140 miles) will be over 4500m of climbing. Then it settles down a bit.......
Re: HT550 2021
Very impressive as usual. I wonder how many will sleep before midnight!

Re: HT550 2021
sorry, just checked a few day 1 rides - when they get to Loch ma Stack (where Liam is now) it's around 3800m, then if they keep going to Contin it will be 4000m+
Re: HT550 2021
After Contin there are a few shelters (wood sheds etc). I can imagine they might be a good target to aim for.
The trouble is that there are a couple (JH and JI) who might intend to ride through and aim to sleep tomorrow night instead.
Re: HT550 2021
Looking at the forecast for Monday if I was at the front I'd not be in any rush to stop tonight.

Ride through the first night when you're fresh has got to be the tactic theses days? And maybe ride through the second as well

Have to agree with that, they've got form. I could see them both going 36 to 48 before bedding down

Oh, and the pic Lars took coming off the Cory shows it being a lovely evening.
