I'm planning on doing my last bike video of the year on this trip.
If any one who is coming has a bike camera wouldn't mind bringing it, we could get loads of footage and I'll cut it together. :)

I'm sure it will be fine. I was banking on people having different cameras so knew I would probably have to do some colour matching and stuff to get it to all work together. I might even have 2 myself if I decide to bring the Canon as well.

Do you mind complete noobs coming? I'm signed up for There n Back so was planning a few overnighters to test kit out ... would appreciate a trip with seasoned pro's so you can tut and tell me what kit i should and shouldn't be using

What sort of distance were you planning on doing and at what sort of pace? i'm a plodder but happy to plod for 40-45 miles a day .... its when the racing snakes zoom off and i try to keep up i'm screwed!

I can also get access to 2 GoPro's if that helps seal the deal

Advice given freely but I shouldn't imagine there'll be any tutting ... unless you've got a hammock.

What sort of distance were you planning on doing and at what sort of pace?

Certainly no race. Expect 20 - 25 miles both days at whatever pace gets set by the steadiest rider. The only exception might be Matt who tends to try and 'beast' everyone else.

If you need / want to borrow anything just shout up, someone will have a spare (no matter what it is) ... even large caliber artillery or a member of the clergy

I'm pretty good kit wise i do a lot of hill walking and climbing so have some decent warm light weight kit i can use

Waiting into today have a few bits coming from Wildcat, the only thing i'm really missing is a frame bag, going to make a template today

What do most of you use overnight? Bivi or tent? I have a few dif types of Bivi bags and single skin 1 man tent, plus loads of diff bivi tarp's mostly ex forces stuff so pretty heavy.

I take it like all outdoor adventures the key is keeping it light weight? And packing like everything becomes a art?

Also my real concern for me is that i drink a lot of fluid, so will be trying out my Water To Go system if i run out

Whatever works for you ... although I can't recall anyone ever taking a 'proper tent'. Last year actually turned into an unexpected bothy (well for everyone else it did) but everyone was still carrying enough had the 'bothy' not been available.

Yep, lightweight will make life much easier but obviously conditions will effect just how light you go. IanB's yer man for 'packing as an art form'

Noon for meeting up, then add half an hour or so for faffing, so 1ish for getting underway. Reckon we should be back at the start by 2.00pm Sunday at the very, very latest but more likely midday.
