I'm old skool tech still on Q/R axles on rear. there seems to me more through axles standard than a roman army. what I don't need or use doesn't bother me...
if they Could rebuild my Rohloff with a low loss planetary systems.... but large Chainrings!
.. and gets diverted off down a wabbit hole...

they will look weird for new bikers looking at older 2 x or 3x front deraileur gear systems be for large cassettes.
A bit like us looking at MTBs with canti brakes & quill (pre-A headset) stems...

actually large Chainring wear at slower rate, more chance of front crunch. shifting under load brilliant.
A major grip of mine , is how slow front mechs change gear at least 1/3rd - 1/2 of a front crank revolution. regard less of shift ramps tooth profiles etc.
I added a 2x drive on my Rohloff but front shift were poor. May it was more noticeable compared to how quick a Rohloff Speedhub shifts...

On a practical note spending that much on an SP hub puts me off, on a less practical note the "busy" graphics aren't my cup of tea, but iirc later versions will have calmed down a bit.

This is a good idea. Some useful travel tools inc a pedal/crank allen key size.

I made something similar years ago to tighten 1-1/4" Fisher headsets using a cut-off spanner head and a QR skewer. It was very good at bending skewers and rubbish at tightening headsets.

I can imagine the situation where you tighten up a brake disc or crank bolt and then can't get the axle back in because it's bent. Sounds a bit risky to me. Unless it's really loose and you're just nipping it up

Let's assume that the guys who made this have checked the spec of the thru axle that's needed to be compatible? :)
(3mm wall thickness, 50Nm torque which is quite a lot, a bit over cassette locking spec)

Just when you thought that Shimano’s drivetrains weren’t confusing enough with deore in 10, 11 and 12 speed they’ve just announced a new mutually incompatible Linkglide version of Deore (1x10 speed) and XT (1x11 speed!) which needs different cassettes, shifters, rear derailleur and chain.

Hmmm, though seems to be firmly pitched at durability on ebikes. Xt cassette weighs 780g,so must be durable pig iron!

I’d assume that the circuit board and activation button were waterproof. My sinewave beacon has been happily supplying power via its exposed USB port for a few years.

hmm 10kmAh or 10Ah, it large, but with out a battery guage, it will bd a PITA when it goes flat when you really need it...

It does look like it’s got 4 tiny leds on the front panel below the power button that I’d assume was a gauge.

Well yes but it is dsigned to be weatherproof

On the connector side, all connectors are designed for resistance to the elements, and the electronics are potted in epoxy.

This does not mean the power bank above is - TBH even my waterproof powerbank is only waterproof when the USB ports are covered and i would expect it to go in the rain and probably quite quickly I dont expect the beacon to break due to being wet

The sinewave? Yeah, expensive but Possibly the best solution on the market.

Power Traveller do (or did) a power bank that has waterproof ports when nothing is plugged in (it has covers)If you use a specific usb plug and input jack they form a waterproof seal at the port. Therefore it can remain waterproof when charging.
I think it was called the Extreme or some such.
I have one. It has a charge level indicator as well.
10,000mAh (ish) afair. Pretty bulky and relatively heavy. Also does 12v power out as well as usb. I nice bit of kit
TBH Most of the time I just use 2x cheap Anker 5000’s and accept they need to be protected

Not strictly bike gear... but I’m normally a serial user of Sugru for repairs and bodges for everything including bike stuff.
This looks like a decent alternative and I’ve wasted more than a few packets of Sugru that have gone off before I’ve had a chance to use it.
