I think wheel size might be more appropriate ;-)composite wrote:Just for shits and giggles any chance of a mountain bike category and a CX category for this? :)
Was trying to get that from Mark Goldie's blog but the link is dead. :(numplumz wrote:Are we talking Twyi TonIan wrote: The 100 mile route is in the public domain already, if you know where to look:?:
If you start having categories where do you stop?composite wrote:Just for shits and giggles any chance of a mountain bike category and a CX category for this? :)
Those rides make my eyes water, I've done 2 rides over 10 hours in my life ever! Kielder 100 (2012) and BearBones 200 (2013)Ian wrote:Wot Chew said (although a prize for the fastest santa has some appeal, just to see if anyone is prepared to try it).

Anyway..., by way of background - here's the evolution of the Wildcat 100 route:
It began on a wet November in 2012 with a hilly 80 km route with Mark Goldie (http://www.strava.com/activities/29317021) - its been a useful fitness bench mark actually, as I recall it was quite tough - though that might have been that it poured with rain for the whole five hours we rode it.
I extended it in January of this year to about 120 km (http://www.strava.com/activities/39183357), and then bolted another 35 km onto it for the Strava Quarg challenge in February (http://www.strava.com/activities/41982846).
Did it again last month and completed it over 2 hours quicker than in Feb, so its definitely got some scope for a real fast paced effort from some people. http://www.strava.com/activities/80350188
Note the start point will be slightly different, but for all intents and purposes this gives you a good outline of the "short" route. GPX will be available to download shortly, once I also have ridden the Two Ton 'O Gravel route.
