Any 3D printerers around?
I'm after one of these printing, a paid job obviously. Contact me if you're up for giving it a go:

I've contacted a few places local to me but have had no response.
Suggestions of somewhere in the UK that could do it would also be interesting.

These folks did me a tarp pole mushroom (it's a long backstory and no time to go into detail) of Rich3rd's design. It arrived in under a week. Highly recommended.

Another happy 3D Print Direct user here. The cheapest I've found for small one-off jobs, and I really like the finish on the Graphite-SLS and PA12-MJF materials.

Sounds good Dave. Pm your details and I'll send my address.Dave Barter wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 3:54 pm I can have a go on my printer. I only have orange filament atm.
Re: Any 3D printerers around?
Just be wary using PLA, might be a bit brittle. I've got some black nylon setup on the printer at the moment if your struggling Dave.

Re: Any 3D printerers around?
As an aside, that bracket they have it mounted to, is actually quite a bad design ... all the load on a 90 degree bend, what were they thinking?

Does that even matter if the material is strong enough?Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:31 am As an aside, that bracket they have it mounted to, is actually quite a bad design ... all the load on a 90 degree bend, what were they thinking?

This might be a better option @techno but I've kicked one off anyway so lets see how it turns out

Re: Any 3D printerers around?
This looks like a great solution to a problem I have as well. I use a Garmin Edge 130plus on my bikes for most of my day to day riding but I prefer to use my old Etrex 20 on multi day rides. I currently end up bodging an Etrex mount onto my stem with cable ties.
Any interest in producing another one of the adapter mounts Dave? I'd be happy to cover any costs for material and time.

My brother has 3 of those things....the SKGo is a monster. But the one that's really impressive is the resin printer. It makes nice Joystick mounts that if properly cured, are pretty decent. Under 300 quid for a semi-decent resin printer.

Re: Any 3D printerers around?
I bought one of those. Not use it much - and managed to break it last week... (the small quarter turn mount tabs). Part of it may have been due to using a cheap out front mount with it - but the etrex is too heavy to use the proper garmin one and it wobbles all over the place....
Anyway, just beware - it's not the strongest thing on the planet, and there's not a lot you can do about it - it's inherent to the garmin 1/4 turn mount.
Interested - one for when I start earning again (and learn some 3D CAD!)

I'll be trying it out close to home and always keep the GPS tethered too.

It's branded as Sonic Mini 4K from Phrozen, Dave. I'll snap a photo in the daylight of one of the demo pieces.Dave Barter wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 12:35 pm I'm tempted by a resin model which one is he using Scott?

Revisit...
I'm also now after an Etrex / Qtr turn adapter. In addition to the one further up the thread, there is also this.

What is involved in getting one of these made to try out? Happy to pay (up to a limit, obvs!! ;-) )
