Cheers Reg. If Ralph's got something planned he's leaving it to the last minute. I've had the day of work so went out riding with Jane and left Ralph at home, so he might be sulking

A Shug tee shirt from Jane which was a surprise
And a tidy monetary contribution from my Mum and the In-laws, it's already burning a hole in my pocket. I'll put some aside for a book, assuming it's going to be published before my next birthday?

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
For some time I've debated within my head, what colour I should paint project 'Deathtrap'. After much deliberation I still hadn't reached a firm decision. However, candy black over a course silver base with some finer silver lining sounded like a good idea. I sprayed a test panel yesterday and will give it some clear and a polish later - so far, I'm thinking it's very nice. Subtle but nice.

Ooh, paint job - you're nearly there then
. Better get checking that life insurance small print
.
Black - I'm afraid I'm going to have to relate my black-paint-job story again, sorry. My good pal/soulmate Mad Mel in Stockport frequently wore a pristine white boiler suit for another eccentric hobby of his but he is also a keen cyclist. One day he obtained an old boneshaker and painted the whole thing matt black - the whole thing, brake levers, spokes, bell, every sq inch. Then he waited for a fully waned moon before donning his white boiler suit, mounting his sepulchral iron horse, and riding round the town late that night. Next day, many reports of a strange ghostly apparition 'cycling' in midair along the streets of Stocky! He also had a VW trike and an old Mini with a train headboard mounted on the roof - 'The Stopfordian'. Absolutely top guy.

Kind of but this is the start of the money rather than imagination part now, so it may not be a speedy process.Ooh, paint job - you're nearly there then

I'm with Reg - its a chop; ergo paint the whole thing matt black, preferably applied with a piece of frozen cauliflower for maximum AWOL cred.

Yay, it's cheery Friday, the sun is shining, the forecast is great, and I have an actual ride arranged for tomorrow with an actual other human

Making gingerbread with the offspring. The left over melted butter/sugar/syrup mix was just like sticky toffee pudding sauce.
Also,

Happy birthday Mike
I've also got an actual irl ride today - taking the full sus out for some rooty, slippy tech around Goyt Valley. Will probably be an utter disaster but it's a lovely sunny day for it. Hoping there's an ice cream van at the car park.
Have a great Friday Boners!

How long did that take you with a bucket and sponge JC?
Or, did you drive it round the corner to those blokes who do it for seven quid at the garage including air-blowing the mirrors?

There are new lambs about, I've just eaten my first fly of the season, the hawthorn buds are breaking out, and the first celandines are flowering. Sure signs of spring, every one. It doesn't get much cheeryer than that.

I was pleased to see the ladies were well represented there, but having zoomed in (I'm viewing on my phone) I'm now not sure they are
Those haircuts

Heck yes Tyneside Vagabonds. Heck yes.
Today's Friday rocks. I've had a great week of work and today I've actually gone into the office in London to collect the three suits, two pairs of shoes and five business shirts I left there a year ago (my commute is bike/train/bike so leave work clothes there) All squished into my Brompton bar bar and a backpack.
Good day. Heck yes good day. Heck yes.
