Don't get me wrong, I quite like it but I'm finding this a bit hard to get my head round ... why would you choose something like this for an endurance race?
The “Rudy Fat” has been designed with endurance racing and all day cross country fun in mind, with its light weight and agile handling the tyres will insulate you from the trail buzz

The idea is it gives the best compromise between speed and comfort.

I am not here to convince anyone either way on the ideal machine for endurance racing as I have learned this from experience one person swears by a single speed rigid steel bike and another is equally convinced its a 140mm full suspension bicycle is the tool for the job.
but a little history:
I have ridden in a few 12/24 hour solo events in the last couple of years from Dusk til dawn in torrential rain to the Bontrager 24hr in the middle of summer. I have been through a number of bikes from one extreme of the spectrum to the other and finally settled on a rigid carbon forked titanium framed 29er (Rudy). I loved the simplicity and reliability of the bike along with the light weight feel of the carbon forks that pretty much soaking up all the trail buzz. Them I saw the Krampus...it seemed obvious to me the evolutionary step from the origins of mountain biking that everyone had overlooked.
I then took the 29+ wheel concept and after months of tinkering finally the "Rudy Fat" was born...a fat version of the standard "Rudy" 29er. Light weight (around 11.6kg without pedals) but with the ability to shield you from the worst of what the trail can throw at you with its meaty 3' tyres

for the curious I have taken some photos of the chainline on the Rudy Fat, although this bike is setup with a single front ring you can see it will clearly take a double without tyre/chain rub. The spec is a Zee chainset with 32t absoluteBLACK chainring, 11-34 cassette, Northpaw 29+ rim with Knard 29x3" tyre at 120tpi @15psi
