Been reading reports of a horrible accident involving a member of the mountain rescue team in Patterdale. It also serves as a wee reminder (which I'm sure isn't needed here) to make sure we don't stray too far from where we could be helped if needed just now.

Not suggesting that people not go out, just that we all make sure we could be reached fairly easily by a landrover or similar just now.

Yeah, horrible to hear one of the volunteers so badly injured.

The fine given to the hikers should be double what the rescue cost, with half going to the injured team member.
