Talking of onza porcupine’s I see they have reissued them. I seem to remember them as having conical knobs? Things were so much simpler then, it was either a smoke/dart combo or porkies if you’re posh or being cool with the white ones.

Yeah they were like a blunt ended cone, you're right. Smoke&Dart for me though, I never did run Porcs.

Oh man, I had a pair of them as well, they were terrible! I think I upgraded the front to a Mud Dawg which was slightly better!

Were they terrible? All i remember was fitting them the same day my brother cut his handlebars so fashionably narrow he didn’t leave enough room for all the controls

My memory is that they had no edge grip at all and that they just washed out but there wasn't a whole lot of choice back then was there? I do remember being amazed when I put the Mud Dawg on the front, all of a sudden I could steer in the mud without the front tucking! I too was guilty of cutting down my bars and I had one of the original steel flexstems as well!
