I can see why they'd do it to avoid having to process silly, small amounts of tax which is inefficient etc etc. If only we had a common trading system ......................... and on and on ad nauseum

S'funny (and I appreciate this might be self-justifying logic) but they do seem to ferk with stuff that doesn't seem to need fixing whilst failing to fix the stuff that is ferked.Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 6:23 pmYou know what they say Tim - if it ain't broke, let's f*ck itIf only we had a common trading system ......................... and on and on ad nauseum![]()

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Not a bargain exactly, but just a cheap thing that works rather well with another thing. I bought a food flask from Morrisons and was delighted to find that it fits neatly into our 600ml Ti mugs. I mean, it slides in like it was precision machined to be used with it
(The mugs we use are the same as the Widesea ones Joe has in his shop btw).

The food flask is a fiver. On our last trip I filled them with veggie curry and took some cold cooked rice along separately in takeaway boxes. All I then had to do was boil some water and pour it over the rice to warm it up. The curry had been in the flask for 4 hours at -7 (it was cold enough that our water bottles froze on the journey, in spite of the jiggling) and the food was still warm - not hot, but we were happy enough with a warm meal in the circumstances. I'm hopeful that in less challenging conditions it would have been hot.
The review on Morrisons website says the lid pops off which does happen but only if you overfill it. Otherwise it works well.

What's the internal diameter of the mug?

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Interested in getting one of these flasks for non faff overnighters but I'm a very long way from a Morrison's, is there any maker's info on the packaging ? I'd imagine it's sourced from the far east but it'd be handy if Amazon stocked it. Thanks

We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Ta. It'll also fit inside an Alpkit 650ml mug then. No guarantee with how things are sized - some are taller, some wider.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
I had a look underneath of one when in there for my mum's shopping, there was a sticker on the bottom partially obscuring it but it has W M Morrisons engraved on the bottom so they have had it branded or made for them.pistonbroke wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 2:53 pm Interested in getting one of these flasks for non faff overnighters but I'm a very long way from a Morrison's, is there any maker's info on the packaging ? Thanks for the detective work guys, Amazon.es also sell the one Peter found but without the €20 delivery charge, might take a punt.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Howies are doing a sale including their Doyle jacket for £59.
I got one while ago and have been pleased with it. It's at the mid to light scale of jackets IMO. Packs quite small, has held off all the squalls I've been out in (not been tested in heavy rain for a long period) bit sweaty but not terrible. Fairly soft and not too rustely.

I just spotted a jacket on there but the description has confused me as there's no mention of an inbuilt compass although it's described asMagic Mountain are doing a 3 day flash sale Ron Hill stuff...
